Been a while! This was for some event going on on Insta!

Sky Chaser finally has a little sheet of her own!

Quirk: Clouds She can create and manipulate aerosols/clouds- Change their density, formations, etc. This allows her to produce attacks that can physically damage a chosen target, and dissipate them at will to reduce damage to public areas. She aims to perfect her Quirk and usually spends her time training; coming up with new techniques and pushing herself to endure various elements she may come across when using it. She’s unable to use her quirk once she tires out and is noticeable when her clouds begin to disintegrate. On a daily basis, she uses it for transportation for herself and others, or to carry things around with her (bags, food and drinks, all that good stuff). Move set: Lightning Fists/Kicks: A close range attack where she shrouds her arms and legs with clouds that emit lightning and produce thunder upon impact and inflicts temporary paralysis. Prolonged use causes said limbs to fall asleep, so she has to use this move with caution. Spinning Tornado Tops: She releases tornadoes (3 feet in height) which causes targets to lose balance, allowing her a chance to subdue and capture them. Special Move: The Sky's Falling In certain instances she can cause clouds within a 1 mile radius (altitude doesn’t matter) to fall straight down and wreak havoc on her enemies. However, it takes a few minutes for this attack go into effect, so she makes use by distracting her foes with other attacks. Her weather of choice to perform this move: Thunderstorms. Equipment: She carries three different types of smoke bombs incase she’s in a tight pinch, each with an effectiveness duration of 5 minutes, 2 1/2 minutes if only a partial amount is inhaled. Yellow: Temporary Paralysis Red: Confusion Blue: Causes loss of consciousness. About her: Outgoing and laidback, she sometimes shows a feisty and mischievous side of her-mostly when she's joking around with others. When something peaks her interest, she'll be quick to show it. Her academic performance is average, and although she feels she can do better, she does not let it hinder her hopes of becoming a great hero someday

Hardwood colony (Sunny and Gorse’s colony) originates from a hunting party that decided to settle down here. Their colony is more hunting focused and their main exports are meats, furs, skins, etc, as well as things like pots and clay. Hunting, cleaning, and preparing and cooking catches is all apart of their basic education.

They have access to clay deposits, and so pottery is one of their more popular art forms. They do also enjoy painting, but not as much.

Most of their last names are based off of roles in hunting. They developed last names because of their designated roles. Example: a Chaser named Canopy. You can generally tell if someone is a foreigner to the colony if they have no last name, and second generation if they have a last name like “Spots”.

Last names are carried on maternally. The colony is not a matriarchal society (or a patriarchy, for the record), but historically toms can have a tendency to wander… this is relatively common practice all over.

In cases of female same-sex parents, generally whoever is carrying is the one whose name is passed on.

For male same-sex couples, if one identifies as a molly she might pass on her last name. If the carrier of the child/children is known, they might opt to pass down their last name but that’s a rarity and only really happens if they’re very close to the carrier, and even then…

The most common choice is to just pick one, or split it between the litter. This goes for cases of adoption too. Some parents might choose this route in general, nowadays.

If the carrying parent is a foreigner, and doesn’t have a last name, they might opt to use their own name as a last name for their children (example: A cat named Meadow has a child named Bright Meadow).

Because of the colony’s origins with hunting, names of prey-animals are generally looked down upon or are uncomfortable. For lack of a better term, it’s very dehumanizing to them. Animal names in general. Even if an animal is not hunted to be eaten, the skins and feathers can still be used and sell nicely. If a foreigner has a name of a hunted animal, they might pass on a nickname instead, or the name of a family member. (This is a less common practice though in the modern day, and animal themed names and nicknames are becoming more accepted.)

This was the case with Sunny’s and Cloud’s family. Their biological mother was named Hoatzin. Hoatzins aren’t actually a very common hunted animal for the colony, because it’s rare to encounter one in their area, but also bc they taste baaad… the eggs however are taken, and the feathers are often sold. She was often instead called Spots (she was a calico!). She didn’t care much regarding the last names of her kids, so she and Sky Chaser (Sunny and Cloud’s other mom) decided to split it 50/50. Hoatzin gave them their first names.

Hardwood is relatively accepting of things like being transgender, or gay, although they do have stronger ideas of exclusivity and monogamy. Intersexuality isn’t really included in their idea of queerness bc it’s not something they have ever historically judged on a bigger scale, although individuals may be more judgmental. They don’t necessarily judge it, but they’re not actively accepting. An intersex cat of the colony might never think much of it, or they might feel isolated and confused, or both. Case by case situation depending on who and when.

They have a tradition of Marriage, or Bonding. Not every colony has a concept like this, but they do. Because of this, they tend to associate having children with being married. Hoatzin and Sky Chaser were pressured into getting quickly married as Hoatzin’s pregnancy was getting into its later stages.

Because of their proximity to the Castwild colony on the beach, they ended up becoming “sister colonies”, and travel back and forth between them isn’t uncommon. There are even festivals where the two will come together to trade. Whenever aid is needed they will often go to each other for help. They also share the last-name system, and you’ll sometimes see last names like “hardwood” or “castwild”.
