Life at Space Patrol Delta ran on a schedule. Trainings were essential, and downright necessary. Granted, life was not strict, but rules and regulations had to be followed and maintained. It was one of the main reasons why you were presently in your quarters.
"Phew." You ran a hand over the back of your neck, tilting your head from side to side to stretch it. After nearly an hour, or more, you were glad to be finished with your self-given chore.
Clothes had been folded and stored in their proper compartments. Personal belongings had been dusted, if needed, and reorganized to your liking. It was not as tedious as it could have been. For that, you were grateful. But again, it had to be done at some point, and having a quiet day with no emergencies helped tremendously.
Sitting back on your heels, you overlooked all of the progress you had made. It was a big improvement from the scattered piles of books and clothes. You had even found a sock that you thought was lost into the void forever. However, as you placed your hands on your hips, something felt different. Out of place.
All it took was one glance down for you to notice. Your eyes grew wide. Immediately, you inspected the floor around your personal space. Blood pressure rising, you patted all around your grey uniform. Surely, it could not have gotten far. There was no possible way that it could have, you had been in your room the entire time. And yet, your Delta Morpher was not within reach or in sight.
The soft swish of the entry door hardly registered in your mind as someone entered the room.
"You're still cleaning?" The voice of Sky Tate broke through your hastened state.
You looked up, catching his gaze inspecting the disarray of storage boxes littering across the floor to the desk and chair. "Oh, I finished," you said, your words winded from your frantic search.
He took a tentative step closer to you, and knelt down. "Then…what are you doing?" He asked slowly, confused.
With a scrunch of your face, you pulled a storage box of CDs and books over to you, debating on whether you should tell him. He may have been a stickler for rules, but you could always count on him for help of any kind. "I…can't find my Delta Morpher," you admitted in a low voice.
His eyes widened. Those light eyes of his caught the light in such a way that it was unfair. "You lost it?"
"Misplaced it," you corrected in a harsh whisper.
Sky watched silently for a few moments. The way you were frantically filling through your belongings was making even him feel uneasy. "Let me help you."
"What?" Your head whipped up away from the box, your focus on him completely.
"Let me help you look for it. I mean…your room is clean as it is, so it shouldn't be too hard, right?"
"Oh," you blinked, "okay. Yeah. You can look through there." You pointed at another storage box. "I may have been...testing those out…for personal research purposes before I put then away."
Sky unzipped the tote to find plush fabrics. "Are these all blankets?"
"You might be amazed by how many fit in there," you waved him off, returning your attention back to your previous task.
A couple of jumbo blankets and over a decade of CDs later, and there was still no sign of your Delta Morpher.
"This is ridiculous," you stressed, running a hand over your face.
"We'll find it eventually," Sky assured, refolding a blanket. "It could not have gotten far."
"What are you guys looking for?" Z asked, leaning against the open doorway.
"Uh…" You and Sky looked to each other. As if you could exchange thoughts, you squinted and quickly thought it over. "My Delta Morpher."
"Oh," she shrugged. "Have you tried calling it with Sky's?"
"No…" You looked to one another again as Z lined between the pair of you with a growing half-smile.
"It's a phone too," she said, hardly smothering her amusement. "Or did you forget that part?"
"Ugh," you groaned into your hands.
"In their defence, they were in a little bit of a panic," Sky reasoned, setting down the blanket he folded onto your bed.
"And your defence for not thinking of that solution is…?"
Narrowing his eyes at her, he grabbed his Morpher. "Alright, alright."
An all too familiar tone rang out. Abeit, muffled, but alerting you to your Morpher's presence nearby. Sky dropped down to your side. Pushing away a few of those storage boxes, a small colored light could be seen under your bed.
"How in the world…?" You asked aloud as you reached an arm under the furniture.
"You must have shoved it under there while you were moving stuff around. Accidentally, of course," Sky nodded. Flipping his Morpher close, he put a hand to your back as you sat up, Morpher in hand.
"I really did not need this level of stress today," you sighed.
Sky smiled at you. "But hey, at least your room is clean now."
"True," you nudged his arm playfully. "Thanks for helping me."
"No problem."
"Like, I could kiss you right now."
Sky's eyebrows shot up for a moment. "I don't think that's regulation…"
"I said could, not would."
"When were you going to tell me about your insane CD collection?" Z asked, peering into the box with curious eyes. Completely ignoring you and Sky's exchange.
Sky shook his head beside you. "Well…at least you're organized."
"For now," you murmured humorously.
