"Oh! You are magic? I have many magic friends."
And while she doesn't really understand how any of it works, she finds it equal parts useful and fascinating nonetheless. Grinning, Portja actually shrinks herself down a couple feet to be on more equal footing with Noelle.
"What sort of magic do you do?"
((Some Sky-Scraper fun facts to distract me from the sads:
Most thorathians have dark blue skin; rare individuals with reddish-pink skin, like Portja, are born with a dual-themed superpower (shrinking and growing, projecting two types of energy, etc.) and have two hearts instead of one.
The spikes on her elbows, knees, and shoulder blades are bone spurs that originally evolved as a form of defense, but now are mostly just minor inconvenience (and used to be styled for fashion, before the thorathians became a fascist dystopian empire with no culture). Because they're made of bone, they're very tough, but are slow to regrow when actually damaged.
By default, Portja can grow up to 50 feet tall, or shrink as small as an inch in height. With her 'Extremist Devices' equipped, this is exaggerated to hundreds of feet tall or microscopic.
The length of time she can stay at a certain size is proportional: if she only alters her height by a few inches (in order to, say, put on a nice dress that wouldn't normally fit her), she can stay that way for several hours. If she grows to her maximum or minimum size, it only lasts about an hour. She can only maintain her 'Extremist' sizes for a few minutes. Afterwards, she needs time to recover as if she had just done intensive exercise.
Overdoing her 'Extremist' sizes can cause odd and random size shifting of individual body parts, which is predictably disorienting and painful as her power briefly goes out of control. As such, she only wears the devices that let her do so in emergencies.
Portja can also change the size of objects (but not other people) she touches, though this quirk is limited by the object's mass. This is what lets her clothes change size with her, though she is generally limited to pretty thin clothing if she wants to maintain it for any length of time.
Unlike most aliens (from her universe, anyway), Portja does not use a universal translator, which is why her English is... a work in progress. Her accent when speaking English has been described as a weird blend of Russian and middle eastern; she doesn't draw out words, and there's a small trill to her 'r' sounds.
While she was a freedom fighter on her homeworld, fighting against the oppressive regime currently in place, pretty much everyone she cared for on Dok'Thorath are long dead. She prefers Earth as her home now, and tries her best not to think about the ongoing situation back on her homeworld. Major survivor's guilt hidden behind a smile.
LOVES learning more about Earth culture, especially watching movies (except war movies/documentaries, which are unpleasant reminders of Dok'Thorath; she doesn't understand why humans watch them at all), art museums, human clothes, and food--her favorites are cheeseburgers and churros. She is always eager to try new things.

"I think I am enjoying these zombies!" Portja said with a laugh as she gave one of the groaning, walking corpses a solid enough uppercut to knock its head clean off--the momentum channeled through growing from tiny to 'normal' sized helped a bit, too.
"They are good for the punching! I could do this all day!"
Sky-Scraper has appeared! What to do?
"I do not like the sound of the ravishing! Please refrain!"
