Tumblr is apparently nuking blogs

So if something happens to mine, you can find me on deviantart as Sky-Shifter. I also have a separate tumblr account, also under the name Sky-Shifter (currently not active there, but working to change that).

It was like the legends said; a warrior mounted on the back of a half-demon, appearing from within the mist.

The half-demon moved like the wind, swift and flowing with purpose. She moved quicker than our attacker’s horses ever could have, cutting off their escape. Their animals shrieked and reared in fear.

Their was a brief clash of swords as the barbarians tried to force their way past, the warrior blocking every blow. A second later the half-demon had slashed and ripped their throats out. The battle was over in  matter of seconds.

They stood before us. The half-demon was panting, blood dripping from her maw. We waited, uncertainly.

“You can’t stay here.” Unexpectedly, it was the half-demon who had spoken. The warrior met our eyes, but remained silent. “When these ones do not return, they will send more. It’s not safe here. I’m sorry.”

And then she turned, and they were swallowed back into the mist.

And she longs for things that always seem just out of her reach...

The wind against her wings. The searing heat of the sun on her back. For the sunset to paint her the colors of the fading day.

Only in her dreams does she glimpse them. Only in her dreams is she free.

It was silent, save for the echoing of my claws as they scraped against the cold stone floor.

Click, clack. Click, clack. Click, clack.

I paused, unsure of myself, as I gazed at the worn walls. When was the last time I had been here? It felt like eons ago, though I knew it was not. I breathed out a shaky sigh as my uncertainty grew.

“You haven’t come in a long time. Where have you been?”

I didn't respond at first, pondering the answer to the question myself. Where had I been? When was the last time I had broken through to the edge of my dreams?

I couldn’t recall.

“Lost,” I finally said. It wasn’t far from the truth, though the words sounded hollow even to me.

Behind me, I could sense Raeathnos’s worry mounting.
