@skyaches said: David approaches Adam, medkit in hand. They had just barely managed to get out of the last trial together and both had yet to fix their injuries since. He sits next to him and opens the container. " Nice moves, Francis. Coulda used you a time or two on the rugby field."
thickly-lashed brown eyes flick up to meet the other’s, full of pleased surprise. adam’s voice is low but genuine when he replies. “thank you, david.”
he hadn’t expected to make it out of that trial, but they’d worked well together, adam with his distractions and david with his bravery. still, the regret that adam couldn’t save everyone is something he nurses closely. “i didn’t know you played rugby,” he’s always cautious when speaking about other survivors’ pasts, as he knows some of them are sore subjects. (he’d found out the hard way.) taking a bandage from the kit, he winds it around the broken skin on his own arm, pulls it tight. he’s had no medical training, but repetition alone has made him an expert. “i doubt that, somehow. i was a bit of a nerd in my university days.” the memory does make him smile faintly: easier times.
gesturing to the medkit and the man’s own wounds, “do you want any help with that?”
