There are a LOT of fun action in this issue, but about what Sparky did, I've been in his type of mental state before, so that's why I think he's full of bullshit. Please don't get mad at me for believing so.

Carly has more brains than I do. I wouldn't be able to resist fighting the Devastator one-on-one, thinking that I could climb on and reach his weakpoints like it's a video game, instead realistically, ya know, ending up getting thrown off with a simple swing or getting swatted off like an insect.

I feel so sorry for Thundercracker dawg (ToT) The Seeker trio is never going to get back together again and he has no clue that it was his own side who ultimately doomed Skywarp. I hope he lives long enough to find out and react appropriately.
Gosh, the panel where Optimus is shielding Sparky with his hands, only to be overshadowed by another hand that's so big you thought it was a part of the background at first glance, is so ironic and terrifying, aka, very cool

Soundwave is the most stable braincell holder among the 'cons and I feel so sorry for him (I say stable instead of being the only one with a braincell cause I don't want to disrespect the others). I swear, if he has a vehicle alt form, it should be some sort of work van, due to him carrying the entire Decepticon operation.

At first the reader got shown Starscream getting flung away by the Devastator as him being pathetic while Optimus getting slammed but being in one piece as him being tough, but in the end, though, Starscream can fly in robot mode, so he can simply walk it off. Optimus... not so much (^_^;)
"If only I could have taken their place, if only it was me instead of them" Primus, I love how both selfless and selfish this line is. So that's the kind of person Sparky is.
Ok I know what Sparky did does end up turning the tides of the battle, but as someone who has tried to take my own life to save my family from debt, I can't see his death as a heroic sacrifice. I've been in the kind of mental state he's in. Even if the Matrix somehow whispered in his mind that it accepts human sacrifices to be recharged, and that Optimus will be all shiny and new when it does, Sparky has no confirmation that things will be okay even after Optimus is healed up. He saw Optimus lost an arm against one regular sized 'con. He saw all of the abled-bodied 'bots around him getting cornered by the Devastator. Sparky does not truly know if his death will make everything better. Maybe, he just hopes that it will and doesn't care what actually happens next, since he's not going to be there to see it anyway. Even if Optimus & the Autobots will take care of Spike to the best of their ability, the kid still has medical bills, university applications, and other human needs. The Autobots are literally aliens who crash-landed a couple of days ago.
To me, Sparky left to get milk from Optimus' breasts, and he's not planning to come back.
Speaking of, I swear, from some angles, particularly from the top down, Jazz's rack straight up rivals Shockwave's.

Starscream's luck is crazy. Like, he got flung away by the Devastator when the big guy was slamming Optimus, but the birdie walked away with much less damage than the truck. Later, Cliffjumper couldn't finish him off, which allowed him to hold Carly hostage, but Devastator crashed on top of him.
It's nice to see that Daniel Warren Johnson does do his research on medical stuff. A lot of media just portray a character being in a hospital as just them laying in bed, instead of being surrounded by, inserted with, and/or covered in wires and tubes (which is gruesome to anyone watching and requires a lot work for any medium). So seeing Spike with at least an intubator in him is refreshing to see.
I wonder how the Autobots is going to react to finding Skywarp being connected to Teletraan One. Like, are they going to just leave him there and uncomfortably avoid staring at him for too long, or are they going to try to extract him and give him a proper burial (or whatever these guys do for a death ceremony in this continuity)? I hope someone will at least go "Huh, so that's why Thundercracker was so upset."
I assume that the reason that the 'bots didn't drag Optimus to Teletraan One was because they were too distracted by Devastator trying to pummel them to realise that the big guy is only there because the 'cons fixed up Teletraan One. The person who usually tells the 'bots what to do is also actively dying in front of them at the moment, so I get why they were too panicked to think.
