I was tagged by @skyewardandbeyond, thank you, Ruby! I'm terrible and will just stick to answering the questions and not passing it forward, but here goes.
1. Favorite fictional character from a book you’ve read?
Everthorne bc I see them as two parts of one being. For a bit more legit answer, Tiffany Aching from Discworld. That kid is amazing.
2. Favorite fictional villain/antagonist from a book you’ve read?
Dracula. Or Bellatrix Lestrange. Or Carmilla but I can't see her as an antagonist.
3. Favorite (fictional) place from a book you’ve read? Would you visit it if you could?
Lothlorien. Yes please take me there right now. Or Fablehaven tbh.
4. What’s your favorite classic novel and why?
I'm not that good with these tbh. Apart from the gothic novels... does LotR count as a classic by now? Also I'm pretty fond of The Picture of Dorian Gray, just for some of Wilde's humor. And I fondly remember reading Little Women as a little teenager but that's been a time.
5. If you could have dinner with one author and ask them anything you want (and they’d have to answer!), who would you choose and why?
Uhh I could name a few I'd want to meet for reasons that would lead to a food fight at best and cutlery fight at worst, so I won't name them. I think everyone who knows me here can make at least one very foolproof guess.
So for an amicable meeting... If I could raise the dead, I'd want to meet Terry Pratchett. And ask him if there was actually supposed to be 42 Discworld novels. Among other things. If I had to pick a living person, guess I'd go for Neil Gaiman even tho I don't know what exactly I'd ask apart from the aforementioned, there would be too much. Including asking to arrange me another dinner date with his wife too lmao.
6. Do you lend your books out to people? Do you have any rules?
Not really, I mostly just share them with the partner & closest family. Our to-read piles sort of travel between four places, depending on who can most convincingly swear they'll read this or that book within the year. Sometimes it leads to conflict. E. g. bro's gf took my American Gods with her to Switzerland even tho I was JUST meaning to start reading it (JUST = since Xmas 2012, so I'll live.)
And I borrow from libraries a lot so I'm not that attached to books as physical objects, but I do believe they should eventually be returned in a undamaged state.
7. How big is your TBR list/pile currenlty? How many books?
Pile, as in books currently laying around my apartment waiting to be read, 17. List, as in books I want to read at some point, I have no idea but I'm pretty sure it goes up to hundreds.
8. Genre you want to read more of, but rarely do?
Those classic novels. Whoops.
9. Most inspiring book you’ve ever read?
Apart from a certain series that inspired me to write like 200K words of questionable fanfic... “I shall wear midnight” by Terry Pratchett. I was inspired to become a better person for like a solid minute, that 's a record.
10. Most intimidating/difficult book you’ve ever read (or tried reading)?
Apart from a load of stuff I was supposed to have to read in school... Stephen King's Dark Tower series. I was very very curious and ready to put up with a lot, but i lasted like 20% of the first book and I'm still angry when I think about it.
11. What do you use to mark the pages? Bookmarks? Dog ears? Receipts?
I have a few pretty bookmarks and like to use them. If they aren't on hand, anything flat will do. No dog ears no no no. And I do my best not to leave books open bottom-up either.
