Thinking about the scant times we get Aramis and Anne actually interacting (and not just communicating with angry stares or longing gazes) more often than not it’s Anne who initiates contact. It’s the case with their final scene - where it’s very much Anne leaning into the kiss.

But what if it had been Aramis who lent in?

Showrunner, Jessica Pope posted an alternate take that wasn’t ultimately used (obvs). But looking at the forehead touch and then Aramis’ thumb stroking Anne’s cheek, I wish this was the take they had used. The actual take is bold Anne with agency in her choices - and I love that. But this alternate take is just so intimate and soft and Aramis at peak melt everyone’s hearts.
