I want to know something about the axel, xion and roxas name scene did you think it was roxas himself who called xion by her name what. i wanted to know about axel and xion i know axel couldn't forget about her and xion hesitation to slay axel I read that xion lost her memories and was controled by the orgainzation until roxas and sora called her back. could you elaborate on the scene with roxas, xion and lea please?
Thanks for the ask! Sorry it took so long to answer.
It’s not as clear in the English version, but that is indeed Roxas calling out to Xion through Sora:
All the other stuff leading up to it is Sora…
…but Roxas is the one who says her name. It’s clearer in the Japanese version, as Kōki Uchiyama, Roxas’s VA, has a deeper voice than Sora’s VA, Miyu Irino, whereas Haley and Jesse sound pretty similar in this scene. Here’s a link to the moment if you want to hear it.
Makes a lot of sense, and Roxas isn’t the only one to influence Sora’s heart like this, either. We also see Ven influence Sora’s heart throughout the game, like in this scene:
Ven’s concern for Aqua is bleeding through and influencing Sora’s concern as well here. Sora’s shocked reaction indicates he’s at least partially surprised by what’s happening, and in a few other cutscenes he likewise speaks up on Aqua’s behalf because Ven is influencing him (like when he says “I’ll save her” in the Mysterious Tower after the Olympus cutscenes and then says he doesn’t know why he said that).
So to answer your question, Roxas’s concern and care for Xion was manifesting through Sora, so strongly to the point where Roxas’s voice spoke through Sora.
And of course, this isn’t the first time Roxas’s heart has bled through into Sora’s. All the way back in KH2 something similar happened when he said goodbye to Hayner, Pence, and Olette:
(Link to the gif because it wouldn’t show up in tumblr’s search for me to embed it properly, argh. From afantasybasedonreality)
As for the other stuff, the whole scene is a little confusing, to be honest, but from what I can gather, seeing Axel/Lea and then hearing Roxas speak through Sora is what sparked the return of Xion’s heart, and Roxas’s connection to Sora and his desire to protect his friends (who he calls his best friends/close friends, his shinyū, in the Japanese version) is what sparked the return of his heart.
Goldpanner translated an interview with Nomura from the Ultimania here. I’m going to quote the relevant parts for what happened in this scene:
—How did Roxas appear at the Keyblade Graveyard?
Nomura: At that point in time, Ienzo had basically finished making Roxas’ body using the replica Vexen and Demyx brought as a base and the data from Twilight Town. This is also how Xion was manufactured using Sora’s memories in KH Days. When he was at a state where all he needed was for the heart inside Sora to return, his friends were in peril. So he used his connection to Sora to rush to the Keyblade Graveyard, where his heart returned to his new body and his revival as Roxas was complete.
…
—At the end of KH3D, we saw that the New Organization XIII was missing a 13th member. Who filled that spot?
Nomura: Xion. The 12 members who were gathered in KH3D were missing the 13th, Xion, and reserve members Demyx and Vexen. That part may have felt a bit out of nowhere, and I am thinking of a way to follow-up on it.
So what we know from Nomura is that Xion was indeed the thirteenth member of the new Organization, and Roxas was able to return using his connection to Sora.
I feel like I remember reading that the New Organization XIII used a version of Xion from when she was newly created and it wasn’t until she came into contact with Roxas and Axel/Lea that she got her memories back of her time with them and thus her heart. But that might have just been fan speculation and I can’t find official sources right now, so don’t quote me on that.
Hope that helps and if anyone else wants to chime in, feel free! My guess is that the DLC might answer some of the questions we still have about all of this.
can you tell me about the design of the female protagonist and the male protagonist from persona 3? they has very significant character designs i would like to go over them
The male MC of Persona 3 was designed with the game’s themes firmly in mind, hence his closed-off looking, almost apathetic design. He’s short, frail-looking and wears headphones, typical iconography for self-isolation, which shows how his journey is about opening himself up to the world to find his place in it.
The FeMC was designed to stand in contrast to that. Her eyes are clearly visible, her face seems “open” and has a smile. While she does wear headphones, they’re much further away from her ears, so while she’s probably still “drowning out the world” in some respects, it’s not as intense as for the male MC. Her stance, too, is more confident and outgoing.
He’s a traumatized person who deals with his trauma by shutting out the world and needs to learn to open up to it.
She’s a traumatized person who deals with her trauma by drowning out the things she dislikes in superficial enthusiasm, and needs to learn to accept the world beyond that superficial layer.
skyflyinginaction replied to your post: I just read spoilers for the next my hero chapter...
yeah horikoshi is presenting more questions than answers
Just from the spoilers, it seems to hint a few things:
1) Gran Torino and the heroes are shady AF which I already suspected (he does know who Dabi is, doesn’t he?). So, Dabi is... not entirely wrong in terms of philosophy. However, ironically Dabi is becoming just like them in terms of philosophy in acting as if the ends justify the means.
2) Dabi apparently feeling remorse for killing Snatch (the one who challenged him on how families would feel) actually makes me very happy. That’s some not so subtle redemption foreshadowing, which is what I would expect if he is Endeavor’s son.
3) Endeavor knows Dabi’s voice but can’t see him clearly, implying he would recognize his face. Seems to fit with him being an abandoned son. This makes me roll my eyes a bit because it’s clearly being dragged out, but whatever.
im pretty much confused by yukaris attitude towards mitsuru in the beggining in the game do you know what that is?
Yukari hates the Kirijo Group for being so secretive about the circumstances of her father’s death, and has been dabbling in conspiracy theories about this for years. Mitsuru, to her, just represents everything she finds wrong with that company and organization: She’s secretive, has an air of untouchable authority to her, gives orders without explaining her full rationale behind them, and tells half-truths, opting to give the full truth later, when it might possibly be to late. Yukari loathes ALL of that. It is this sort of haughty, corporate behavior, she feels, that cost her father his life.
It’s only when she gets to see Mitsuru as a human with emotions, rather than an agent of a soulless cooperation, that the two of them can genuinely become friends.
excuse me can you please give me the kanji and names for your persona protagonists? I know one of them is kouzuki ayami can you tell me the rest with the kanji?
What I named my Persona Protagonists on my first playthroughs, in order:
P1: 藤堂 尚也/Toudo Naoya (Manga Name. not very creative)
P2IS: 周防 達哉/Suou Tatsuya (ditto)
P2EP: 天野 舞耶/Amano Maya (Did you even get to name her? I don’t remember...)
P3(Male): 光月 明記/Kouzuki Meiki (The opening sequence with it’s bright moon made me just go for basically “Brightmoon Brightington”)
P3(Female): 光月 亜矢美/Kouzuki Ayami (Same as above, except I went for that given name as a play on “Yami”/dark. Because, why not?)
P4: 岐 那/Funato Tadashi (Just grabbed the first and last Kanji in the name “Izanagi” and made names from them.)
hey neni could you tell me how strega represent there arcana in some way like chidori with the hanged man jin with the hermit and takaya with the wheel of fortune could you tell me the significance of there arcana
I am sure I answered this one before, but alright, let’s go!
Chidori - Hanged Man: The Hanged Man is all about being betrayed or having to surrender or sacrifice thing, both things Chidori is deeply afraid of. She tries to own nothing and have no attachments to anything, so she cannot be betrayed or lose anything, which would cause her pain. However, she doesn’t realize that doing so, she’s already lost and surrendered everything, and she doesn’t realize how much she misses these things until she meets Junpei. In the end, Chidori makes another sacrifice: Giving her life away to save Junpei’s. However, she feels happy in this sacrifice, because making this sacrifice, she gained something else: The ability to appreciate the fact that her life was meaningful. This is foreshadowing to the Protagonist’s fate in a way.
Takaya - The Wheel of Fortune: The Wheel of Fortune is all about those things in life we can’t control which can be called “Whims of Fate”. Takaya becoming the person he is wasn’t up to him, he was kidnapped by the Kirijo Group and had the Persona evoking experiments forced on him. However, he has accepted his fate- In the worst possible way, but becoming a worshiper of the death that is encroaching upon him simply by having an unstable Persona. The Arcana is about living with your fate, and Takaya does just that; in the least healthy way imaginable.
Jin - Hermit: Now, Jin is a fairly underdeveloped character, so it’s not as clear here, but the Hermit is about self-reflection in quiet and solitude. Jin makes it clear that his conviction and dedication to Takaya was a conclusion he came to on his own, something he considered a natural result of what Takaya had done for him. So it was probably a result of self-reflection. Even if it lead him into death.
I love the video it was really awesome thank you so much for doing this i mean thank you. choice thats an interesting word i find it ironic becuase yukari, rise and ann do not have very good life choices. I agree I kind of wish they did the lovers arcana a guy.
Well, their arcs are mostly about making better life choices for themselves (which they end up doing.) And yeah, having the Arcana related to a guy for once would be cool!
