weekly pick-a-card for 7/6/20
I know, I know, I’m late a day. We’re also gonna shake it up this week because... I got a gorgeous new oracle deck!
The rules? Simple. Pick a card pile and a crystal that speak to you, then click “read more” and you’ll get a reading with some messages from the universe for this week.
Left pile - Citrine Center pile - Hematite Right pile - Hematoid Quartz
Left pile - Citrine
So I randomly picked from among my stones and pulled this little citrine. I should really get a picture, it’s loaded with rainbows and good energy. Citrine is a stone representing the energy of the sun, positivity, light and abundance.
Your tarot card for the week is the reversed six of swords. Upright, this is a card I usually read about leaving a situation with help. The fact that it’s reversed suggests to me that you’re stuck on something that’s preventing you from moving on to where you need or want to be. Maybe you’re resisting change. There’s some disconnect between your heart and your mind.
I look at those other two cards and I think the key to moving past whatever blockage you might be experiencing is to look within. Try some meditation or journaling, talk with a friend who cares about you and gets you, draw it out, whatever you gotta do. Put yourself in a place of peace and get some chill - the serenity card - and reflect on getting your heart and mind on the same page.
What is it you want? (Does it have to do with the happiness and positivity of the citrine you chose?) What’s holding you back - is it within your control? If it is, now is the time to start working on it. Let go, take a leap, whatever you need to do. If circumstances beyond your control are in your way, take a look at them. This might be a time for peace and acceptance, and it might help to shift your thinking about these obstacles and begin to regard them merely as delays.
Center pile - Hematite
Hematite is a stone used for grounding, calming, and balancing. Interestingly, it’s a stone that can be magnetized, so sometimes I regard it as a stone capable of subtle attraction of energies, like it can pull negativity off of you.
The tarot card I pulled for your pile is reversed strength. Which like, off the bat could be read as a blockage or reversal of strength, weakness even. I think this is a message about vulnerability and insecurity, specifically. And I think those two oracle cards coupled together are a reassuring message.
So let’s break down the reversed strength coupled with the hematite. This stone specifically is shiny like a mirror, but the reflections are all distorted. Which like . . . I’m getting a message that some belief about yourself that you hold, some viewpoint about yourself, is likewise distorted. And this is where the vulnerability and insecurity is coming from. So a message this week is to examine what you’re insecure about through a lens of groundedness and reality, rather than distortion or bias.
In regards to the other two cards, I think they are a message that you have to “trust in the journey.” The path to self-love and achieving your goals is likely a long one, it won’t happen overnight. It’s not always easy. You won’t always feel stong and brave, and that’s okay. You just have to trust that if you keep going, you’ll get there in time.
Right pile - Hematoid quartz
Look these were random pulls for my crystals, haha, but hematoid quartz is just quartz that has inclusions of hematite in it. So hematite has the properties of grounding and balancing, and quartz has the properties of amplification and clarity, so I think this is a super strong stone for meditating and introspection.
The tarot card I pulled for your pile is death. This might seem like a scary card, and it can be heavy, but it’s not a message about actual deaths. It’s a message about change and endings so that new things can come through. Something in your life might be shifting and changing, and that might be hard for you. The hematoid quartz connection is throwing me a little honestly, but I think it might be a smaller or more subtle change that feels bigger to you than it might look to others. So don’t feel bad about how you react to stuff. It might even be as small as finishing a TV show you were really into. I’m joking a little, but, no matter what is ending for you, this is a message to move on and be kind to yourself about whatever you’re feeling, but also not to dwell. This is a time to make a new pattern.
I think the community card is a message to, of course, connect with others. Lean on your friends, reach out to them. This also suggests to me that you’ve got a connection to an identity of people you can tap into, whether it’s people of your demographic group, people with similar interests and hobbies, people in your neighborhood, etc. This is a reminder to stay connected to them too.
And the explore card is I think a message to reach out and embrace whatever new thing is coming your way, even if you can’t see it yet. You might go down a completely new path for this, or find a new community to enjoy.

And that’s it folks! Man I really need to invest in a nice tarot cloth (I’m uh... using a t-shirt right now) and taking actually clear pictures. Sorry y’all.
Poll time.... should I do these here on this blog or would it be better on my personal blog @golden-states? It’s just that this blog has active followers and my personal blog is so old it’s mostly inactive folks now. I also used to b a fitblr in my earliest tumblr days. oof.
Anyway enough rambling... hope this resonated with some of y’all. Feel free to reblog if it did!
