Skylab IUD Review
So I got my Skyla IUD in May 1st. I'm oficially calling this my monthly review. I was on the Ortha Evra patch for fours years, which I loved. I decided to switch a couple months ago when I began to spot more frequently between periods. Pros: theoretically no bebes for 3 years, lighter periods, less stress on the body, etc. Cons: the procedure + 1-3 months of bleeding. The procedure hurt. I'm going to be honest, it felt like the worst periord cramp I've ever had. That said, its a very short procedure and the pain went away quickly, so it nothing to cry about for me. I felt fine enough to go to brunch. Midway through brunch, the cramping re-started. The cramps were so bad they made me cry, and that's saying something. I'm glad I took off of work because all I could do that day was sit and cry in bed. Peeling was the worst of it. But they eventually subsided within the end of the day. Ever since I've had it inserted, I felt like I've been on my period. I haven't stopped bleeding. On my better days it'll be light spotting. I cramp, worse than before when I was on the patch, but not nearly as bad as that first day. I called my doc to make sure it was normal, and the nurse assured me it was. Spotting and cramping can occur for up to three months! This IUD is not so easy if I feel like I've been on my period for three months! Gah. Overall: It hasn't been terrible, just annoying. I've gotten used to this constant period, so when it stops, I'll be completely ecstatic. 8/10, would recommend
