Okay so, long distance communication? How does that work? Especially before the later games when (I’m pretty sure my memory isn’t lying to me on this) establishes some form of radio later on
I’m presenting to you!! My Solution; the Ley Lines (aka I love these things and will shove them into whatever I want to)
Okay, so the ley lines I’m thinking, are strings of Quicksilver, the strings all originate from the Core of Light and are essentially the ‘shield’ that kept the Darkness at bay but!! During the time of the Giants, Ninjini learned they could be used for something else
People at the time theorized about the ley lines, but couldn’t prove they existed. When Ninjini emerged from her entrapment and was fundamentally altered as a magical being, she realized that those super strange lines she could see in the sky were the ley lines
(sorry my uncropped image lol) With this new found knowledge and being a highly skilled sorceress, she found that this was something her and her new team could use to their advantage given that yes, while the Arkeyans are mechanical creatures they run on Quicksilver, and they could use the ley lines as their spider web essentially
See all those fun markings I drew on them, that’s when Ninjini was able to work out they could use them as communication lines too, rudimentary comm units lol, they were able to send short messages across to each other when they needed to split up
10,000 something years later, and when the Skylanders would be first made by Master Eon and when they rediscovered this system Ninjini made they would expand on it for their own purposes. But during the times of the first game I imagine it’s in the process of being phased out bc of the use of radio (and then the Core. gets blown up) but uh…. it’s probably still used in emergencies I think, I know the Giants definitely keep using it
