Mesmerelda was a standout boss from the SWAP Force era due to her musical performances, and her bullet patterns that had more complexity than some of the Kaos fights throughout the series had. A lot of people were hoping to be able to Trap her or get her as a Sensei one day, but in the end, chararacters like Pain-Yatta, Grave Clobber and Tae Kwon Crow were chosen over her (somehow), and her only playable appearance is as a racer in Superchargers. Now, let's see what she might have looked like, if she got the opportunity to prove herself as a Sensei!
Mesmerelda would be a Magic element Ninja class Sensei, using her Puppet Chorus and tricky traps to take out enemies before they even see her coming.
( @amf-studios Here you go!)
Find out what her abilities would be down below!
Stats:
Health: 410 (Level 1), 1230 (Level 20)
Power: 48
Speed: 72
Armor: 35
Critical Hit: 60
Elemental Power: 25
Core Abilities:
Primary - Sawblades: Mesmerelda throws a miniature version of her clown sawblades forward, which spins rapidly for quick multihit damage that pierces through enemies until it reaches its apex.
Secondary - Puppet Chorus: Mesmerelda summons a trio of puppets, one in front of her and one to her left and right. They have 1 HP, and charge around the screen in straight lines, cutting through enemies and drawing the attention from Mesmerelda. All puppets need to die or despawn before another chorus can be summoned.
Upgrades (Ordered by cost in gold to purchase):
500 - Tertiary: Puppet Bombs: Mesmerelda tosses a Puppet Bomb forwards that walks towards the nearest enemy, exploding once within range. If the bomb is hit by an attack, it will explode early. Only one bomb can be on screen at a time.
700 - Solid Oak Puppets: The Puppet Chorus puppets now have 50 HP as opposed to a single hit point.
900 - Faster Puppeteering: The Puppet Chorus and Puppet Bombs move at a faster speed.
1200 - Twin Sawblades: Mesmerelda throws two sawblades at a time when using her primary attack now.
Upgrade Paths:
Path 1 - Entrancing Elegance: Mesmerelda dances across the battlefield with her sawblades stealing the show! All eyes on her!
1700 - Sharper Saws: Mesmerelda's Sawblades do increased damage.
2200 - Quadruple Saws: Mesmerelda throws four saws at once with all her hands when she attacks. Two saws target the enemy she is facing, as they did before, but the two new saws unlocked with this upgrade will always target other enemies (if there are any to target).
3000 - Full Sized Sawblade: Hold the Primary button to have Mesmerelda conjure a huge spinning sawblade beneath herself. Release the button, and she'll break into a spinning pirouette that can be controlled, doing massive damage as the sawblade spins underneath her.
Path 2 - Villainous Ventriloquist: With her masterful puppeteering, Mesmerelda controls the stage! If you can't keep up, then exit stage left!
1700 - Pyrotechnics Budget: Puppet Bombs deal increased damage, and up to two of them can be on screen at a time.
2200 - A Stacked Cast: Mesmerelda's Puppet Chorus conjures 5 puppets instead of 3, now summoning three puppets in a wall in front of her, and one to her left and right.
3000 - Steel Cord Strings: Puppet Chorus puppets now have 100 HP, and regain 20 health when dealing damage to an enemy. It's very likely that they'll despawn before they die if you're not playing on higher difficulties.
Soul Gem:
4000 - Final Act - Hold the Secondary button while Puppet Chorus puppets are still active, and Mesmerelda will turn invisible, conjuring the massive hands she used in her boss fight. You can move these hands around and attack with them, where they will deal large damage by slamming into the ground.
Sky-Chi Power:
The One Who Pulls Your Strings - Mesmerelda is pulled off screen by a string, and she leaves behind her floating hands that summon 50 indestructible Puppet Chorus puppets that you can control the direction of, cutting enemies to ribbons with a swarm of little puppets. As a bonus, she will sing the whole time that the Sky-Chi Power is active.
Other Stuff:
Upon being placed on the portal for the first time, Mesmerelda would give the player TWO Imaginite chests. One would contain the Puppet Pack, a Legendary Backpack bearing the likeness of the Puppet Chorus that grants an Imaginator +25 Armor and +25 Speed. The second would give the player access to the Opera Voice type for their Imaginators.
I usually don't decide on catchphrases for custom Skylanders, but this one is just too obvious, since she kind of already has a catchphrase. Mesmerelda would simply sing "I'm the one who pulls your strings!~"
