Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“I met this incredible woman while she and I supported a friend through bottom surgery in San Francisco. It felt like a queer romance novel with the most outlandish plot, yet was somehow real! We very quickly fell in love and I was inspired to write her a song capturing some of that magic :)”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“The political climate has impacted me a ton. I ended up moving across the country to Seattle to flee the anti-trans laws. Multiple friends have already moved out of the US entirely and my girlfriend and I seriously considered doing the same.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“If my song was another piece of art, it would be the book, ‘The Giving Tree.’ My song is about C-PTSD from too much self sacrifice and being afraid to have my own needs met. Like the book, it left me a stump of who I used to be.”
