"SARCOMA - DANCEFLOORREACTION" IS OUT NOW! https://album.link/sarcoma-dancefloorreaction
We are proud to announce SARCOMA’s third LP, DANCEFLOORREACTION, to be released on She/Her on May 15th.
DANCEFLOORREACTION, seethes with surgically precise reflections on love, power, and the conditions that shape both. Following the already iconic and borderline irony of NOT CROSSES (2024) and KAAMOS (2025), Luna pushes further into a uniquely extractive understanding of the cost of loving and being loved, informed by what Monique Wittig called "The Straight Mind” Love here is not a clean kill or a quick death. It is slow, brutal horror that leaves you suspended in bloody aftermath, soaked in selfish desire and gendered expectations.
The album is now available for pre-order on Bandcamp and Ampwall.
Introducing pseudo-antigone Track: gracia https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/pseudo-antigone-gracia
Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“With my latest release, Melancholic Melodrama, everything from struggles around personal self-definition, artistic ambition, isolation, and heartbreak went into making that album. In it, and anything I’ve made since, I’ve leaned on curiosity and sonic exploration to make a personal idiom to articulate myself therein.”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“I live in Alberta, Canada. This notably conservative province has targeted trans youth and trans women through the policies of premier Danielle Smith and the United Conservative Party. Other policies single out immigrants like myself, which I cannot help but see as threatening under the shadow of the U.S.’s I.C.E.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“Simone Weil’s Gravity and Grace might get at the evocative acid-fueled sentiments that guided the making of this song. The composition has this pop mystical religiosity felt between the pianos and the wavetable synthesizers that sound like heartstrings pulling at the sense of vulnerability that the song explores.”
Introducing Alien Flower Track: Cibo https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/alien-flower-cibo
Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“It’s a simple question that’s oddly hard to answer. For me, music feels outside of time. There’s no clear beginning or trigger. It’s always been there, like something built into me. Sometimes I use it to reconnect with myself when I feel lost, sometimes to feel worthy of love or seen by others, sometimes to escape being human, and other times to confront that reality. Because of all this, making music feels unavoidable.
What I’ve realized this year is that I also love what comes from making music. Connection, community, and a sense of belonging. I enjoy solitude, but not isolation. I guess I’m a bit like a cat in that way.”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“It’s been mentally exhausting. Watching the global rise of far-right movements and coordinated propaganda is deeply disturbing. It feels like things keep getting worse, with money and power increasingly shaping politics. The dishonesty is overwhelming and hard to ignore.
What frustrates me most is how this chaos feels manufactured, like anger is being deliberately stirred up so people turn against each other while those in power tighten control. It’s unsettling to see how effective that is.
On top of that, ongoing atrocities, like the violence in Gaza and Sudan, make the world feel unbearably heavy. There’s so much suffering that simply existing can feel overwhelming.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“It would be BLAME! specifically the character Cibo, who inspired the track’s name. The influence is more aesthetic than narrative, drawn from her presence and journey in the manga.”
Introducing pity bullet & Spin Cycle Pups Track: Song for Nia https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/pity-bullet-spin-cycle-pups-song-for-nia
Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“The struggle to find stable housing and a consistent social circle has been a huge source of inspiration for me lately, because it drew me to connect with my cultures and my personal interests. Being able to show pride in plenty of different ways has made it easier to meet people and write songs I'm actually proud of!”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“It has made it infinitely harder to find employment and housing or build stable relationships due to the fact that most of us are struggling financially and mentally. My music has gone from insular and depressing, to fixated on what the current sociopolitical landscape is doing to the communities I cherish.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“Every single DSi/3DS Flipnote animation made in the 2010s. The nostalgia, the connection to other artists, the inspiration to improve and inspire others in any creative scene, and the sense of safety many of us rarely find outside of our creations all flood back to me when I think of flipnote.”
Introducing Cloggy Slutge Track: Kimchi Hotdog https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/cloggy-slutge-kimchi-hotdog
Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“I was always leaning towards making dark and melancholic music but lately something clicked in me and I have the urge to get my sillies out through making music that slaps. And that's how Cloggy Slutge was born. Through a big gaping hole.”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“I have the privilege of living in a relatively safe country so I personally wasn't impacted. Although I'm thinking how long is that going to last since one of the governing parties elected last year is openly transphobic. I'm mostly concerned about my wife's legal status since she's a US citizen and I will feel much safer once we manage to get her Czech citizenship.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“It's a slightly weird (in the best way imaginable) lesbian romance so I would probably go with Love Lies Bleeding :)”
Introducing Letania Track: Dicha https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/letania-dicha Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“Last year, I returned to psychological therapy. After a few months of learning new ways to process emotions, I discovered that writing works really well to prevent dissociation. I often struggle to talk about myself, but staying connected to my inner world allows me to access parts of my memory that were previously locked away.”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“Every year, I feel delusional about the possibility of a better world. Hate crimes keep rising, third spaces are disappearing, and social media is flooded with far-right buzzwords and misinformation. I hope this is just a really bad hidden camera show. I'm tired of fighting just to survive.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“Knife + Heart directed by Yann Gonzalez”
Welcoming back SARCOMA Track: Cursed Noise Lesbians Attack! https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/sarcoma-vs-luna-lias-vs-yzbl-vs-letania-vs-cloggy-slutge-cursed-noise-lesbians-attack Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“Months ago, I decided to quit my meds, a choice I keep returning to as my pendulum swings away from pharmaceuticals and toward self-reliance. The highs and lows came back, but so did the joy when playing gigs. I feel euphoric, excited to create again. And I’m grateful for that, even if life feels like survival mode now.”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“This year, I promised myself I’d leave my gentrified hometown—the city that raised me. The last squats have been cleared out; I’m poor and exhausted by how hostile life has become here. Every time I take the metro, I picture my lifeless body on the rails. I feel this city will end me, and so many others.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“If my track would be a book that would be the Ladies Almanack by Djuna Barnes. And I'm glad my favourite ladies helped my write it, because only united we're strong. This a track for the lesbian body.”
Introducing Powderpaint Track: Gargoyles https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/powderpaint-gargoyles Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“We’ve both dealt with a lot of shit this past year, a lot of it's still too rough to talk about. Making music has been a big source of catharsis and escape. Put it this way - when life is good, I don’t feel the need to create. When things are bad, all I can think about is how much I want to work on songs.”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“Oh you know - trying to stay hopeful in the face of rising modern fascism. We’re lucky to live in Brighton where we have the privilege of a big trans community who, like guerrilla operatives, continue to commit clandestine pisses in bathrooms we’re no longer allowed to.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“We’d make great comic book heroes. Or villains. Actually that’s a great idea - any queer artists out there want to work on it with us?”
Introducing Taylor Shields Track: Bread Ha https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/taylor-shields-bread-ha
Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“When I wrote this music I was surrounded by supportive friends that allowed me space to think creatively without pressure. The songs all feel very risky and vulnerable to me, unaware of their surroundings, simply going about their day.”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“You realize that so many allies and political parties simply have no plan but want to help. When they do try to help it feels like you are an animal in a zoo rather than a friend or person.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“Probably someone getting ready in the morning. Like, I was hoping to make it feel like a super chill day off with no responsibilities, no stress, just cruising through the day and seeing what happens. None of that chill morning then something bad happens and changes their life, more like a day when someone asks, ‘What did you do yesterday?’ You reply with, ‘Nothing much.’ It would be about a super chill day off with no responsibilities, no stress, just cruising through the day and seeing what happens.”
Introducing Skylar Conover Track: The Altar https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/skylar-conover-the-altar
Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“I met this incredible woman while she and I supported a friend through bottom surgery in San Francisco. It felt like a queer romance novel with the most outlandish plot, yet was somehow real! We very quickly fell in love and I was inspired to write her a song capturing some of that magic :)”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“The political climate has impacted me a ton. I ended up moving across the country to Seattle to flee the anti-trans laws. Multiple friends have already moved out of the US entirely and my girlfriend and I seriously considered doing the same.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“If my song was another piece of art, it would be the book, ‘The Giving Tree.’ My song is about C-PTSD from too much self sacrifice and being afraid to have my own needs met. Like the book, it left me a stump of who I used to be.”
Introducing Lust Hag Track: Stifled Glare https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/lust-hag-stifled-glare
Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“For me, the inspiration is rather impulsive and unpredictable. I had a yearning to express myself in a fun way recently and recorded some more upbeat guitar just for the fun of it. Any reason to get creative and make some art is a good reason. Last year I was just pissed off. That was the energy I harbored and needed to get out.”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“The political landscape has made it hard for members in my community to get the care and support they need. The trans panic has resulted in an impossible job and housing market for the trans community, not only in Missoula, but in the entire USA. This has resulted in a lot of fear and uncertainty which over prolonged periods of time, really wear on a person.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“I don’t really have a good answer for this, I’m sorry. This is not specific but I think my track would likely be some sort of psychological drama thriller if it were a film. I was so deeply in my head when I created the album that I really don’t know how to compare it or any of the songs to anything. I’ll leave that to others.”
Introducing Four Limbs Six Hands Track: tucked out https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/four-limbs-six-hands-tucked-out
Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“I don't mean to be so sappy but what inspired me the most to be more creative this year are my bandmates. They're my bestest friends and closest musical collaborators. Leading up to this release, their enthusiasm, energy, and output everytime we come together fills me up with so much life. I sometimes feel like I can live forever coz of it. FLSH wouldn't get this far without them. Love you Sabby, Frankie, and Viya.”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“Our band is made up of laborers so the political landscape of the Philippines is not distant to us. Power and wealth remain concentrated among the elite political dynasties and entrenched bureaucracy, while farmers and fisherfolk are violently pushed aside as their land is taken for subdivisions, resorts, and development projects that serve the wealthy. Entry-level wages remain unlivable as prices continue to rise, making it more difficult for people to imagine a future here. As women and trans people, we also face the everyday realities of gender discrimination and social barriers, and as artists, we struggle in an industry that offers little support or stability for independent creatives. There is SO much more going on but the exploitation of marginalized sectors shapes our lives directly--and it is the reality that drives the music we make together.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“If our track were an artwork, my pick would be T. Fleischmann's Time Is the Thing a Body Moves Through, and Viya's pick is Breakfast on Pluto. There's many connecting seams for both works including how they show how society often demands that trans people explain themselves through fixed categories, descriptions--male or female, before and after, transition as a clear linear story--but their lived experience resists that structure, describing gender as something that unfolds over time, something felt and navigated rather than definitively 'solved.'”
Welcoming back @liza-plants ! Track: Garden of Delights https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/liza-plants-garden-of-delights
Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“My wife & I had a listening party on the release day for my album. Going through the release process is so fun & stressful. It was great to just sit down and listen to this thing we had made together and get excited about what it is but then also get inspired to learn more and make the next thing.”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“I am very lucky & grateful that I left the US 7 years ago. However, I will likely be impacted by the Trump admin passport thing for trans people. Sadly everything is tied to my passport here. I have had F on my passport for years, since my local IDs are tied to my passport, I will essentially be legally detransitioned in the country that I live in when I get my passport renewed. I have to decide if I will renounce my US citizenship over this and become stateless.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“I feel like it's kind of giving Alice in Wonderland. But the fullest hooka smoking slug, rapey pedophile version of the story.”
Oh my god I am so fucking sick of this song. Please skip it. I didn’t even want to put this on the compilation but Misha told me I had to. She said it was the best one off my last album. (https://liza-plants.bandcamp.com/album/that-wasnt-love) I think Blurry Pictures of You is better personally, my ex-boyfriend likes Safe Word. I had voice feminization surgery on April 1st and now I am on strict vocal rest. There is risk that I’ll never be able to sing again and I didn’t really think that through fully beforehand. When I was working on the album I tried pitching up my voice an octave for Hit Me Later and had a little breakdown because I wanted so badly to sound more like that.
Welcoming back hi maya ! Track: skating on that psychedelic mirror https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/hi-maya-skating-on-that-psychedelic-mirror
Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“So far this year, i've been getting so much into psychedelic music, Animal Collective for example, probably my favourite band right now. They're a band that made me wish i could be a kid again. Especially their album ‘Feels’ by, is a good example of that. They express their music/selves in a silly, goofy and freaky way. and i want to express myself and my music in that way as well. A new album i'm producing that would be just ‘psychedelic noisy experimental electronic music’ and i want people to dance and also go ‘woah, wtf?’ ”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“The political landscape over here in ireland is interesting, our president is actually a leftist and she supports palenstine and trans rights. But the political landscape in the US right now is scary and i'm so sorry for anyone that has to go through the terror and fear of whats happening down there. It's really fucking awful to see what's happening down there. Fuck ICE and Fuck Trump.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“I think my track would fit well with the David Lynch movie ‘Inland Empire’, that movie is so surreal and feels off. Just like my track, my track feels psychedelic and surreal. I think i got inspired by Animal Collective with the synthy effects stuff, and Akira Yamaoka with a little bit of that mix in it.”
Introducing @deeraline Track: поздно ночью https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/-
Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“This year brought emotional ups and downs, and music became how I processed everything honestly. Different relationships, both messy and hopeful, shaped what I felt and created. Sharing my music and receiving feedback from listeners reminds me that my experiences connect with others, which motivates me to keep expressing myself authentically.”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“Over the past year, the political climate has felt increasingly divisive, which pushed me to focus more on empathy and finding common ground. I try to set a positive example in everyday interactions and contribute where I can, believing real change starts with how we treat each other.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“I would choose a painting — most likely a nude portrait of a woman expressing a full range of emotions. I model and muse on the side, so I deeply relate to that combination of vulnerability and strength.”
Introducing vividnestavy Track: po rozklade opekniem https://sheher.bandcamp.com/track/vividnestavy-po-rozklade-opekniem
Describe something that happened this year that inspired you to make music.
“After a very difficult 2025, I craved to find a safe way to let out every single emotion that I kept to myself. I also needed to truthfully and openly ''materialise'' and express what comes with being trans. Truthfully, being this open to strangers, but myself too, is terrifying, yet freeing.”
How has the changing political landscape the last 12 months impacted you personally?
“In Slovakia, every other day, the social and political acceptance of queer people is dying. The human rights of any minority are at risk, and I'd be lying if I didn't say I don't feel hopeless. In a few months, I'll be an adult, and I won't be able to get the care I need. In short, I'm terrified.”
If your track were another great work of art, what would it be & why?
“‘The Death of Marat’ feels like a good emotional descriptor for my comp track. The slowness and meaning of the track give me that feeling of a swan song. Also, in my theatre club, we had a play about transitioning. Marat had a skin condition, and we used a skin condition as an analogy for being trans.”
