Capture tried all he could to remember,he squeezed his eyes shut tight and clenched his jaw tight. Nothing came to mind, where was his memories?! He slammed his head against the wall,he finally laid down. It was no use,he lost his memories. All he could recover was a picture of one friend, her… He sat crying, wanting to remember her more,he couldn’t. He then remembered his nightmare,a man named Fathom. Yes…all Capture had to do was find Fathom, tell the nightmare what to do,and he would get his memory back.
He looked in the mirror to realized he wasn’t his raccoon self,he was human. Yes,he had spikey dark brown hair, big brown eyes, and he no longer had his raccoon mask. Instead,he had rectangular brown glasses, and he wore a black and white striped shirt.
“Hey Cameron! You there?"all of a sudden,Capture changed. He no longer remembered Fathom,or the girl,he remembered who he was in this world.
Cameron Smith, age 24,he lived alone in his apartment on the third floor. He lived all the way out in Colorado, and his best friend was a man named Jason. Yeah, and he had a girlfriend, her named was Arianna. She was pretty, and Cameron would remind her every day. Cameron raced to his door, opening it wide. Jason was there, smiling cheek to cheek, like always.
"Dude! What’s the rush? Anyway, come on,my father’s friend is waiting."Jason told Cameron. The got into the nice tan Ford Explorer, rushing off to the cafe. Cameron was finally going to get a well paid job.
Cameron looked out the window, seeing a big sign that flashed,
"Maestro’s Coffee”,the place they were meeting. As Jason pulled in,Cameron unlocked his seat belt and wiped the nervous sweat off his forehead.
“If your worried about failing, don’t,that will only make you fail."Jason was right. Cameron took a deep sigh and exited the SUV. As he walked into the coffee enriched soil,he felt relaxed and ready. Coffee always had that effect on him, especially in the morning.
Jason sat down in a chair,Cameron sat down in front of a well rounded woman. She smirked, seeing Cameron,
"Hey Jason, this the guy you were talkin’ ‘bout?"her Jersey accent boomed, she pointed her finger to Cameron. Jason nodded, the woman looked back at Cameron. She held out her hand,Cameron grabbed it and shook hands.
"Nice to meet ya,Cam,I’m Jenell."she chuckled,a waitress came up.
"Hello, would you like to drink or eat anything?"the waitress pulled out a small pad and pen.
Jason waved his hand to Cameron, telling him that he could order first.
"Oh…well,I’ll have a Vanilla Iced Coffee."Cameron ordered,
"Make that two,and I’ll be payin’."Jenell spoke up. Jason grabbed a menu,
"Well…I’ll go for a nice cup of coffee."he told.
"Hot or cold?”
“Cold. And no creamer, just dark."Jason put the menu back after what he said. The waitress nodded after she was done writing and left. Jenell, who was looking at the waitress, looked back at Cameron.
"Okay Cameron,to be an employee of my company, the Hivers Agents Incorporation Company, also known as HAIC,you must answer a series of simple questions about yourself. Don’t worry, they’re not too hard. Okay, first one,if a friend of yours was getting hurt, what would you do?"Jenell questioned.
Cameron closed his eyes and thought,
"Well,I would probably step in front and warn them to back off,and if they don’t…I would defend my friend if they tried to get to him."Cameron calmly answered.
"Hmm…now, second, have you ever trained in combat?"Jenell raised an eyebrow. Cameron nodded,
"Yes,I have trained in Martial Arts,I was able to get to my black belt when I was 14."he grinned. Jenell remained straight faced,
"Next, how good are you at these things? Driving, planning, and quick actions."she squinted her eyes.
"Well, driving, safe and fast,I never drink or text while I drive. Now planning, not so much,I find myself better in quick actions, which I am able to keep my head in the battle."Cameron wasn’t sweating as much anymore, infact, not at all!
The Waitress came to their table,
"Here you go,2 Vanilla Iced Coffees, and one plain dark coffee. Enjoy!"and she walked away. Jenell sipped her treat, then pulled out a twenty, she stared Cameron into the eyes.
"Cameron…you’ve passed with flying colors. Wonderful, meet me behind the cafe Monday. See ya then,Cameron Smith."and with that,Jenell picked up her drink and left. Jason and Cameron walked outside to see a shiny gray Maxima drive away. As they got in Jason’s SUV,Cameron realized he now had a job,a job he wanted all his life.
