Group Show ‘Dimension(s) Variable’

I’m taking part of a group show, Dimension(s) Variable, with my Skype Drawings at The Waiting Room in London.

Also there will be live demonstrations of Skype Drawing sessions in the gallery during the show including the PV.

【グループ展のお知らせ】

僕のSkype Drawingも展示されるグループ展「Dimension(s) Variable」が、今週木曜日にオープンします。期間は4月23日から5月15日。初日は午後6時からプライベートヴューがありますので、ロンドンにいらっしゃる方は、どなた様もどうぞお気軽に遊びに来ていただければと思います。

ギャラリー「The Waiting Room」は、FarringdonやChancellery Lane駅に近く、宝飾店街として有名なHatton Gardenにあります。詳細はリンクをご覧ください。

また、プライベートヴュー当日や、展覧会期間中に、会場にラップトップを持ち込み、会場外のモデルさんと繋いで、スカイプドローイングのデモンストレーションをしたいと思っています。

どなたか、お時間に余裕のあるかたがいらっしゃいましたら、ぜひご協力をいただければと思います。PV当日はイギリス時間午後6時〜9時、その他の期間は水曜〜土曜・イギリス時間午後12時〜6時までです。（＊日本時間はイギリス時間のプラス8時間です）

Looking for Volunteer Models for Skype Drawing

[Skype Drawing Project]

I am wondering if anyone who found this page are interested in my Skype Drawing project and being volunteer models for it.

This started from very personal motivation of mine that I needed more people to talk with to avoid isolation and depression after five years of living in the UK. But found later that it can bring different inspirations to my portrait making when I spontaneously started scribbling of the faces of them during the conversations.

Particularly the conversations on Skype have been very stimulating in may ways as it allows the models and the artist to have frank discussions not only about art but also about the other things, in the very personal, relaxing environment for each other. It eventually makes each drawing very different even if they are all from the conversations with the same person.

Thankfully, some people in fact even became repeaters, but I wonder if I could have more people from more various backgrounds.

I regularly look for volunteer models by posting on Facebook. And I usually give them the scanned image of their portrait (free for non-commercial use) in exchange for their time after the sessions.

So please feel free to contact me via comment, message on FB / Twitter or through email ([email protected]) if you got interested in it (or just wanted it again) so that I can arrange a time for you.

【スカイプ・ドローイング モデル募集】

このページを見つけ僕の「スカイプ・ドローイング」に興味を持っていただいた方の中に、ボランティアでモデルになっていただける方はいらっしゃいますでしょうか。

このプロジェクトは、イギリスに住んで5年目の年に、孤独を紛らわすための話し相手を探すという個人的な動機からスタートしています。その後、会話の中で自然と描き始めた落書きから、ポートレート・アーティストとして、何か新鮮な感覚を得られることに気付きました。

特にスカイプの会話では、お互いにとって個人的でリラックスした空間の中で、アートに限らずいろいろな分野に関してざっくばらんな会話ができるので、常に何かしらの刺激になります。結果的にそれが僕のドローイングのスタイルにも変化をもたらし、たとえ同じ人と二度、三度とセッションを重ねたとしても、常に毎回違った仕上がりになる点も、このプロジェクトの面白いところです。

これまですでに、何度もおしゃべりにお付き合いいただいている方も現れて本当にありがたい限りです。また今後は、さらに様々な地域、背景を持った方々ともセッションをしてみたいと考えています。

ボランティア・モデルの募集は、定期的にFacebookのページなどに告知を掲示しており、モデルになっていただいた方には、セッションの後に（非商業的利用に関してのみ）無料でポートレイトの画像をお送りしています。

Artistic Isolation will carry on during the opening week of The Green House N16

The group show 'Artistic Isolation' still lasting and the venue in London, The Green House N16 is having their launching party with the exhibition this Tuesday 9th Dec. 17:00-22:00. Please check this out if you're around then.

Invitation to a group show TONIGHT!

Thanks to an emergency call from my kind friend, Paul, just happened to get a chance to show my Skype Drawings in public before new year.

The show's held near Newington Green in North London as one night event but possibly it continues for some more days. This is in a business site that some creative companies share the working / meeting space, cafe, etc. in a building.

It's funny enough that I really don't know anything about the show, even of the title of the show, except for some artists' name and that there'll be a performance show as well as the artworks.

Anyway, I'm excited to see new people there and hope I also could see my old friends there tonight.

【告知】

友人からの緊急召集で、今夜急遽、一夜限りのグループショウに参加することになりました。

おそらく今年最後になるであろう、スカイプ・ドローイングの展示機会をもらってラッキーなのですが、誰かが会場でパフォーマンスを見せるかもとか、参加作家数人の名前とか以外は、展覧会のタイトルさえもわかりません。

ちょっと変な告知ですが、会場はローカルなグーグルみないな格好いい感じの人たちが働いている共同オフィスの中です。

お近くにいらっしゃる方はちょっと覗いてみてください。面白い空間ですよ。

追記：タイトル判明しました。「Artistic Isolation」です。
