Oof so okami hanzo... when wifeys parents arrive to take her home, he reveals that he's the heir of the prestigious shimada clan, richer and more powerful than her family could ever dream to be. This effectively chases them off, but possibly raises the chance of hanzo being discovered by his former clan. That is only if wifeys parents make a fuss or, alternatively, have the audacity to brag about the union, in whatever prestigious neighborhood wifey hails from.

If Hanzo is able to cough up the money that wifey!reader’s family is missing out on by her being with him, then I see that placating them completely. That’s all they really cared about, they don’t care about her. She is essentially nothing but their lifestyle/meal ticket. I also picture Okami!Hanzo to be more humble when it comes to money, things. Sure Hanzo sells the stuff he farms, hunts, and gathers from the forest, but it doesn’t bring him a grand fortune. He left all of his life as a part of the Shimada clan behind, including any of the fortunes it held.  

This is where I picture the villages surrounding the forest/mountains where Hanzo and wifey live to come to their aide. Okami!Hanzo has done plenty for them. Many of them still feel he’s owed plenty, many households feel they are in debt to him. Even if the Okami insists that’s not the case. Hanzo’s saved several priceless lives, has provided plenty of protection.

So the villages either show their gratitude by gathering money together. Just enough to cover the dowery, shoves it in her family’s hands and tells them to leave. They’re mostly humble in themselves but together they raise enough. Or they make it so impossible, so grueling for reader’s family to get any info on her whereabouts, how to get to her. They all collectively act as if they have never heard of Hanzo or wifey!reader in their life. They drive the family crazy, and make their time hanging around the villages so hell that they eventually give it up. They’ll have to find other means and good riddance to their daughter.

Hi! I'm a fan of your AO3 content, and just had a question as to the order of the main storyline? It would be Thrown amidst & Living with the Lich, Into the Fire, The Sin Mansion, then Doll correct?

It doesn’t really matter if you read TAM and LWAL first, or if you read ITF first, but yeah otherwise the order is correct. I’m glad you are enjoying the stories. :)
