I honestly just can’t believe they made her a Palpatine and also that reylo ended up being canon and also just ??? So much? I’m???? I can’t

the rey palpatine plot is DUUUUMB because 1. it is a clear retcon of what happened before in previous films and 2. you can’t have a shattering revelation like that in the middle of the final film. if i take off points for rotj for doing that with luke and leia, then this gets 2x points taken off there. regarding the reylo thing, well, i can kiiiiiind of look past it because rey physically kills kylo ren and kylo spiritually kills himself so that it is just ben solo instead. but it is so rushed to have that full on make out, dsjfsd, a cute hug could have worked. and, well, he dies immediately after and doesn’t spend the last few minutes of her wallowing in sadness or anything. 

like rey, im just gonna pretend she’s rey nobody-skywalker, i can live with that.

Ok to follow up on that anon I definitely think Kyle Ron lied to her like... I think her parents are significant? It almost seems like Kyle knows who they are and knows it would give her more power somehow with that knowledge and so is purposefully trying to manipulate her and make her weak and vulnerable and more susceptible to his trying to "turn" her by telling her her parents were nobodies...

I don’t believe any single word of what he told to Rey. It’s pretty obvious that Rey is a very special girl, that she is Force-sensitive, she dreamt about Luke’s island...when Maz told her that there’s someone who still could come back...the first thing she said was “LUKE!”, the fact that Leia sent her to find Luke, her relation with Han during TFA...Rey is someone close to their family...I don’t know if she is Luke’s daughter, or a Kenobi, or a Solo...but SHE ISN'T DEFINITELY the daughter of common scavengers. Besides let’s not forget when Maz also says about Luke/Anakin’s lightsaber: “It's calling to you....” and in one of the first TFA trailers, we heard Luke talking about: The force is strong in my family. My father has it. I have it. My sister has it. You have that power too.” and immediately after that, we see Rey???. Maybe he was talking about Kylo?....but anyway, I  just refuse to believe that Kylo is that last of the Skywalkers....that would be rude...really rude....cos everyone just deserved much better...

But also I guess there was like one (1) lesbian kiss and also Luke finally got to prove that he could pull an x wing out of the water with the force so that was cool

jhsdkfhkj the lesbian kiss had me SCREAMING because it was so blink and you miss it and j.j. was talking about it as if it was this grand moment. give me my aphra show.

okay but i liked luke’s presence here because it felt both true to where luke’s journey took him throughout the last jedi (with him finding his confidence, his groove, back) and doing what he should have done, making amends with rey and apparently she liked him enough that she wanted him to be a father figure. so yay in that regard?
