SLA is a wonderful method of 3D printing if you want detailed models. You will be amazed at the finest details this technology can capture.
3D Printing Singapore
This huge part was 3D Printed using SLA 3D Printing technology in a single piece. How satisfying is it to see your print successfully complete in one shot.
I used PrusaSlicer 2.1.0 alpha1 to slice this Marshall Stack resin print (@myminifactory object:10136) and the new software gets better every time. In the new version you can choose to place the pad and support under or around the model like I did for this print. After the print is finished you can easily break away the pad and support. Printed on the Original Prusa SL1 by @josefprusa in 0,035 mm layers in Prusa Orange Solid resin and painted the model black. #3dprinting #3dprintingcommunity #3dp #prusa3d #prusaprinters #prusaresearch #prusasl1 #prusacw1 #prusabeta #prusaresin #sla3dprinting #lcdprinter #makermovement #makersgonnamake #maker #additive #de3dprintman https://www.instagram.com/p/B1WvIf2osD8/?igshid=14g86bn18baop

Tolerances and Print Fidelity in SLA Models – What Architects Need to Know
Architectural models require precision, accuracy, and exceptional detail to properly represent design intent. Understanding how tolerances and print fidelity work in SLA 3D printing can make a significant difference in the quality of presentation models.
SLA technology allows architects to produce highly detailed models with smooth surfaces and fine structural elements, making it one of the most preferred methods for architectural visualization and design presentations.
From façade textures to intricate building components, proper tolerance planning ensures that multi-part models fit together perfectly while maintaining the original design accuracy.

How Fixie 3D Implements the Combined Approach
Fixie 3D seamlessly merges advanced 3D printing with traditional model-making craftsmanship, offering London-based architects and designers a precision-driven, end-to-end service that transforms digital concepts into physical reality.
Step 1: File Preparation and Consultation
Clients begin by uploading their 3D model files (STL, OBJ, or FBX) via Fixie 3D’s secure online portal. The technical team reviews each design to ensure print readiness, providing expert guidance on resin selection — whether for high durability, translucency, or aesthetic finishes — ensuring the best results for the project’s intent.
Step 2: SLA Printing at Scale
Fixie 3D employs large-format SLA printers (750 × 750 × 550 mm) that deliver high-resolution, accurate prints with the capability to handle multi-part assemblies. This stage captures intricate architectural features, from window mullions to organic façade curves, all rendered with unparalleled precision and smoothness.
Step 3: Hand Assembly and Finishing
Once printed, skilled modelmakers step in. They meticulously remove supports, sand, and paint surfaces, ensuring a flawless finish aligned with the client’s project palette. Each piece is assembled, glued, and often mounted on CNC-cut wooden bases, producing a sophisticated mixed-media presentation.
Step 4: Quality Control and Delivery
Every model undergoes a rigorous inspection to verify dimensional accuracy, paint uniformity, and structural integrity. Once approved, Fixie 3D ensures secure packaging and swift delivery across the UK or internationally—so every model arrives ready for presentation.
Fixie 3D’s combined approach bridges innovation and craftsmanship—empowering architects and designers to visualize, refine, and present their ideas with tangible precision.
