See, crime-fighting isn’t what you think it is. Comic books got it wrong. You’re not just swinging around town on your rope line or spiderweb or in your invisible plane and you hear a scream or a bank alarm. No, what it is, is that you have informants. You get tips. You follow clues. Sometimes you beat information out of snitches. Not me, but some heroes have been known to do that. The grim and gritty ones. Most of the time, it pans out to nothing. Most of the time, you’re up on a rooftop and looking out on a city where most everyone is asleep. Or, if there is a crime, it’s miles away. Most of the time, you don’t get to stop anything or fight anybody.
