Oof, okay. Ummm maybe we've got already established throuple of Lo, V, and Remy. So how would the other two get introduced to the bois and join in the relationship? ~💙
Oooooooooh analosleep.
They met stargazing because I said so
They’re such starry bfs it’s a little ridiculous
At all times one of them is wearing something star-related
They have star nicknames for each other
They’re soft and sweet and lovable and amazing
Roman and Patton are much more fiery gays y’know
Less meditative
Less quiet and appreciative of the stars
Bad match... right?
They meet Roman first
Roman falls in love with Remy first, meeting the sleepy boi with sunglasses and a starry tank top beneath his leather jacket
Remy’s snarky and fun and snappy and very flirty because he’s always flirty
Roman doesn’t know yet Remy’s real love language is stars and more softness than confident flattery
But he will
Roman and Remy becomes friends, and soon enough he meets Remy’s boyfriends- falling in love with them is just as easy
Virgil is even more snarky, in a different way, more guarded, but Roman’s seen him melt under his boyfriends’ loving gazes and sweet words, and falling in love with that emo softie is just second nature
He and Logan grate more, Logan’s more stubborn and contrary to Roman’s equally stubborn nature, and Roman’s not sure this is a connection that’ll ever click
But- and if you’ll still be with me for all of my stars- it does
It does one night when the four of them had planned a hangout and Logan hadn’t come, Remy and Virgil saying he had had a really stressful day
It does when they have their hangout before Roman says goodbye, planning to head home, the walk not too long when he sees a familiar head of hair in the park he walks by to get home
It does when he finds Logan slumped over a picnic table, watching the stars quietly and tiredly, not bothering to do much more than half-heartedly wave a hand at Roman
It does when Roman just sits down next to him, slowly risking a hand on Logan’s shoulder, feeling the other sigh in a melancholy sort of contentment
It does when Logan quietly askes Roman is he knows why the three of them love the stars so much
‘I don’t’ Roman answers, truthfully- he loves that they love them, but that doesn’t mean he understands it
‘we all had our own reasons’ Logan answers, still quietly, watching the sky ‘but now... now I think it’s because they remind us of each other. Even now, when I can’t see them, when I just need to be alone... they’re still here. no matter where I go or how I feel, all I have to do is look up, and they’ll be there with me. I’ll never forget them, I’ll never lose them... they’ll always be here.’
Logan looked over at Roman then, eyes softer than Roman had ever seen them, and he finished, ‘with me’
Roman fell in love that night, and if Logan were to be honest with himself (which he always was), he did too
Roman’s in love but for once he’s not sure what to do. They’re all amazing, and to be with them would be heaven... but they have each other. Isn’t this an awkward thing to ask for? To be part of the together they’ve already established?
But he can’t hide forever. It’s only a few weeks after that night with Logan. They’re at a café, it’s a nice day, and their sitting outside with drinks.
They’re just chatting, laughing, joking and smiling and they’re so happy and-
‘I love you.’
Everyone shuts up. Roman looks partly mortified with himself. He can’t believe he just said that, but at the same time... he can’t believe he didn’t say it sooner
‘all of you, I love- I love all of you’ he continues because he’s never been one who’s good at stopping, and the emotion in his voice is raw, and he almost looks choked when he looks at them, both hopeful and hopeless at the same time
He looks back down. ‘sorry. I’ll- I’ll just go-’ and he stands and he can’t believe that with all of three words he screwed up everything-
‘wait!’ it’s... it’s Logan. this isn’t a Logan thing. Why is Logan stopping him.
‘I-’ Logan coughs and looks down and then looks back up, as if he has to say this to his face, as if he couldn’t imagine saying it any other way ‘I love you too’
Roman’s shell-shocked enough to stay put as Remy adds ‘me too’
Virgil’s looking stressed as he tugs at his sleeves and looks between Roman and the floor before he just nods a lot and mumbles something and when Roman looks like he didn’t hear it he more or less yells it ‘I LOVE YOU TOO’
It’s awkward (what’s new), the four of them watching the other side as if at any moment they might take it back, recant their words, claim it was all just lies or stress or a mistake
But they don’t. Roman slowly sits back down and takes a breath and tentatively reaches a hand over the table and the others all put one of their own on top of it, and Roman focuses on it for a moment, torn between laughing and crying, because this is... this is perfect, there doesn’t have to be any more words- though they will be discussing this, will be discussing them, soon enough
But for the moment they don’t; for the moment they just hold hands and don’t say a word and that’s everything Roman could ask for.
Now, Roman fell in love with them. But Patton? The four of them fell for him.
That café is turning into a café of fate because they meet him there, a new worker with a smile bigger than any they’ve ever seen as he askes for their orders and makes them with a cheeriness that’s never forced.
Patton’s so friendly they all start hanging out almost immediately, friends almost immediately, and from there it’s just a downwards spiral for all of them
How can Roman not fall in love with Patton’s energy and constant love for him and his ideas and whatever they’re talking about?
How can Logan not fall in love with Patton’s innocent softness and incredible range of emotions (and his dad jokes, too, even if Logan won’t admit it)?
How can Virgil not fall in love with Patton’s near constant bright outlook and the soft way he smiles at Virgil when he reminds him he’s doing great just as he is?
How can Remy not fall in love with Patton’s spark of life and joy that he brings with him everywhere and touching everyone with?
Patton’s friendly, and soft, and beautiful, and lovely, and amazing, and perfect. They all love him. It’s so obvious it would be sad if the source of their obviousness wasn’t so happy and fluffy
They all admit it to each other within a week or two of starting to hang out with him. Roman says it first and the others tumble right after.
They love him. They love him with all the love they have. But what do they do about it? They can’t just tell him, right- that’s a crazy Roman move and a crazy Roman move alone
(If you’re wondering how the heck these gay messes even got together as analosleep, they just sorta... did. they never asked. just started living together and literally sleeping together and doing everything together under the pretense that it was just easier than living (and sleeping and everything else) separately)
They put off for all of like. three more days. Patton’s just- he’s too cute and lovable and he loves to hug them and boop their noises and mess with their hair and honestly they’re all too gay to deal with it for long
They’re in the park, Patton’s running around, it’s fall (because I said so) and Patton’s jumping on leaves as they crackle and laughing and- they have to ask him, if nothing else afterwards they can die knowing they tried
Except they get through the first like five words and Patton’s eyes are always widening as he skips right in front of them and break out in a grin and interrupts with ‘of course!!!!! I’d love to date all of you!!!! especially because you’re all so cute and nice and smart and amazing and-’
Patton’s forced to stop by the blush police even though he’s already broken the law four times
This ending feels a little sudden but I mean.... that’s where we lay. The starry bois remain the starry bois, and its an element of the analosleep relationship Roman and Patton don’t try to mess with, since they know how much it matters to those three
But they still have nights together where they all stargaze, and mornings where they all get up early enough to watch the sky paint itself in pastel colours
They have bumps but what couples don’t. What matters is they’re together. Under starry skies or coloured mornings, in wind that carries the leaves with it and rain that brings down the clouds, in quiet moments of tea and whispers and loud moments of deep laughs and uncontainable excitement; they’re always together
And that is how LAMPS meet. And, coincidentally, it also happens to be how they never leave.
