I had the great privilege of working with Slanted Studios on some pixel art design and animation for an X-Men: Apocalypse ad spot that aired on Adult Swim. I created the pixel art for and animated the Apocalypse character, and created the art for Angel, Storm and Mageneto.

Check out this case study from Slanted Studios where they breakdown their approach to a new installation they created.  If you are interested in animated projections in real spaces on actual objects, definitely check this out.  Slanted Studios shows how they used After Effects to visualize everything and how reaching out to the appropriate resources for help can make such a difference.

Adult Swim Promo "Riddick"

Great choice in subtle animation over matte paintings in the first 15 seconds of this promo.  This technique ties in well with the content of the movie, although I would have loved to see more of it.
