"Hm…That’s a good question. I mean, I just learned through experience, but sometimes you can’t do that. And it really depends on what type of breeding you’re doing. Like if you want strong Pokémon for battling or good contest Pokémon or if you’re looking for a shiny…it really all depends. 

There are a few good books I can reccommend to learn the basics and ethics of Pokémon breeding, but after that really the best way to do it is to get out and start. Having resources for proper breeding stock also helps.

That she’s not a good trainer. The longer she spends away from home and on her journey, the more she doubts herself. It’s getting pretty hard for her.
