Describing groups of people as animals, using language like, "hunt them down" and "infestation" is an age old tactic to influence public opinion. And, it works. History shows when dehumanizing language is repeated, people start seeing their fellow human beings as sub-human.

Open Letter to #AllLivesMatter

To all the All Lives Matter people. Not all white people but historically in this country relations with poc have been horrible since the beginning and for the longest time even the good white people were complacent in the mistreatment of others. Not because they didn't care but because of peer pressure and fear. Historically in this country white people have been bullies and oppressors. You can't just expect the black community to trust everyone now especially the same institutions that condones and allowed the treatment go on or turned hoses and dogs on us because we didn't want to be treated as second class citizens anymore or because we can use the same water fountains now. Then black people are told from a very young age about what has been done to them for centuries and the injustice. It's also a lack of the historical aspect taught in schools because there is way more to black history then just Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parks white history is the norm and black history (that isn't erased) is taught as an elective at the collegiate level. Google Rosewood Massacre. Unfortunately black people in America just don't trust this country to do right by them or protect them and we have more than enough reason to feel that way. I have no patience for white people trying to lecture us on how to respond to oppression from the comfort of their own privilege.

When I meet black people in Australia, 99.9% of them are African. I have met two Black American students at La Trobe, but their parents are from Africa. One of them has a father that is a king over a province in Africa for GOODNESS SAKES.

I’m usually asked what part of Africa I am from and when I say I don’t know they look either confused are disappointed. If you really understood America’s history…then I shouldn’t have to explain to you why my African roots are hard to discover…

But I want to know my ties to the Motherland, so I plan on putting in the work to discover my roots when I make it back to the states

It’s fine my country and time period has it there is nothing wrong with it I mean it’s just different status also without slavery we get less gladiators  and that is always fun-specially about throwing criminals to get executed that was my idea I’m a genies!
