Flutterby - Avery & Isabel
It was the closest Isabel had felt to normal in months. The burden she’d been carrying since February had grown a little lighter under the requested heavy hand, she’d had a very set schedule for an entire week, and she had an entire four hours of ‘free time’ to spend unbound - once all of her chores had been attended to, of course. She’d quickly and carefully did each before stripping and immediately shifting into her preferred form.
Free. She never felt as free as she did when riding the wind, catching updrafts to soar high above the ground before propelling herself closer to the ground again. Only on her second descent did she note that apparently she was no longer alone in the little clearing, wings flapping to carefully land on the tip of her company’s nose in greeting.
Despite needing to adapt to his Mistress' various quirks, Avery was incredibly happy that she was letting him be unbound. While he was happy to be getting training with his technopathic abilities, what really excited him was being able to experience what it meant to be a vampire and how his senses changed.
Getting used to all the new smells and sights and sounds did get to Avery after a while and he headed out into the woods to find a place that was quiet and peaceful. Even though his eyesight was keen enough to catch sight of the butterfly and grin as it fluttered around, it didn't prepare him for having it land on his nose, a surprised "Oh, hi." escaping his lips.
