After the gala, the slayers made an effort to hunt down the people behind VIGILANTE. Through a painstaking amount of work and long hours, the slayers managed to find evidence that some gala attendees might have ties to VIGILANTE. 

Unfortunately, as the final fireworks of Summer Fest lit Roseport’s sky, the slayer hub suffered a break in and a data breach. All the evidence related to the suspect gala attendees was wiped from the system and stolen from the hub. While the slayers still have the list of those they planned to question, they now have no hard evidence tying any of the suspects to VIGILANTE. 

Only a slayer would have known how to access not only the databases, but the physical slayer hub, without immediate detection. A slayer must be working with VIGILANTE. No one knows who it is, but fingers are being pointed, and the slayers and supernaturals don’t know who to trust.

OOC: The event is now over! You’re free to continue and finish your event threads, but please do not post any new event starters. As of right now, only the slayers know what VIGILANTE deleted/stole, but everyone knows that VIGILANTE breached the slayer hub.

In the weeks since the gala, no new information regarding the photographs has been released. Secretly, investigative Slayers have been looking into the individuals identified in the photographs. While other Hubs have had some success in uncovering the crimes the identified supernaturals committed, the Roseport Slayers have had no such luck. 

The harsh realization that at least some members of VIGILANTE are also members of the supernatural community (and are perhaps slayers) caused a major commotion. The Council ultimately decided to task a few slayers from each Slayer Hub with the job of investigating VIGILANTE itself. Unmasking the organization still isn’t the Slayers’ top priority, but after months of focusing their attention on cracking down on the supernaturals, this renewed VIGILANTE investigation feels like a move in the right direction. This renewed attempt to find those running the mysterious organization is public knowledge, so any supernatural that cares to know, can know about it. 

Of course, whether or not the investigation will actually be a step in the right direction is yet to be seen. While the Slayers seem to have good intentions, the supernaturals are aware that this could turn into another way to hunt them.

To no one’s surprise, the gala’s roundtables can only be described as tense. What started as productive conversations quickly devolved into finger pointing and blame shifting. While plenty of slayers, supernatural leaders, and others in attendance continue to try and keep the peace, those who are angry are loud.

Any chance to get the discussions back on track is doomed. Just when the Slayers thought they were getting the meetings back under control, a messenger arrived. Their warning was meant for Slayer ears only, but with a room full of supernaturals, it was impossible to keep secret.

Only moments before, Slayer Hubs were bombarded with pictures of gala attendees around the world. The pictures were taken inside the various galas of certain supernaturals in attendance. All the photos have 'TREATY BREAKER’ typed over them in bright red font. It seems VIGILANTE is back to calling supernaturals out for their bad behavior...and that whoever they are, they’re part of the community.

The Council and all the higher ups at the Slayer Hubs across the world are refusing to share who has been identified in the photographs so far. Supernatural gala attendees might have immunity for the night, but tomorrow is another story.

OOC: Only those attending the roundtables will immediately know of VIGILANTE’s latest stunt. They can spread the word to the other guests, and you’re free to plot that out between roundtable attendees and non-roundtable attendees. If you’d like your character to (secretly!) be one of those identified in the VIGILANTE photographs, please message the main! No one will know about it IC for some time, and of course, I’ll discuss it with you if the time comes to reveal it.
