My daughter Heather wrote, It’s my 10-year anniversary this month of surviving the worse double pneumonia a person could have. I nearly died. I have lived to help my mom publish her book, Eight Fingers and Eight Toes: Accepting Life's Challenges, with some of my writings in it; read some of the best books of my life; and met and enjoy my beautiful cat Thomas. I also watched my brother, Logan Madsen, as we share a journey side by side with Miller syndrome, autism, and a lung disease, transform through his paintings about the details of life with disabilities.
