Australian Outback Christmas - Second Life
As you skate on the frozen lake at Calas Galadhon or explore the delightful “Let It Snow” with Bing Crosby crooning about a White Christmas in your earphones you could easily forget that in half of the world Christmas falls in Summer. I visited Australian Outback Christmas where I found they celebrate Christmas a little different ‘Down Under.’
The first thing is you notice is the dry heat. Kangaroos shelter from the sun under a white gum tree.
It’s true that Santa Claus is here, but in Australia there is no sledge and Kangaroos replace the Reindeer.
A barbecue replaces the traditional Turkey and Christmas Pudding as served in England.
Thankfully there was good Wi-Fi reception so I could still log on. There are twelve small gifts hidden about the sim to add interest; I found searching for marsupials also entertaining. They occur everywhere.
There are lots of nice touches to be seen here and there. I liked the dog watching the dripping tap for example as it shelters from the sun under the house.
If you want a break from all the snow covered sims why not visit Australian Outback Christmas; I found it well worth exploring.
