She'd fucked up. She could admit that. As she'd dropped most everything in her life, even down to the old sweaters collecting dust in the dresser she'd attempted a paint job with only to rust one summer when the AC broke, sending off some weird toxic particles in the air — demon landlord wasn't too happy about that when the fire department was called— but along with life and belongings, Shearsins, where she'd snatched up a chair since it's opening in 2019. Her coworkers and friends, at the time, hell it was just easier to leave it all literally, cut and dry.

But here she was, a new version of the walk of shame. She didn't bother calling in to see if boss lady, Sylvia was around or not. Really, Sav didn't have it in her to be let down over the phone. Besides, she didn't need to ham it up, she was genuinely running of fumes and smacked in the face by the real world. A box of Christmas lights tucked under her arm, "Hey Sylv — guess who's back, back again — shady's back back again—" she really did sing it, awkward in tune with the song, dropping the box on the desk in the back room, "I brought lights. You know Ashley can't decorate for shit and the holidays right around the corner..."
