Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls (with Cahir on the bass guitar) in Wiesbaden last weekend. It’s always so good to have them back in your own country. And it was also a massiv thorwback, because back in the day when I was still living with my parents, driving to Wiesbaden or Frankfurt am Main was my normal route for a gig. So a one hour drive to a gig and then back again.

Saw Frank for the first time in Wiesbaden in 2013, where he also invited me to have some Jameson after the show. I declined, as I was driving - but it all happened about ten days later in Stuttgart. Can’t belive it’s already 6 years since those 2013 shows. It feels like last week or so...

OK, a proper one now: Frank Turner.

Waow, mate. Tricky one. But you certainly have great taste.

5 Favourite songs: Get Better, Rivers, The Next Storm, Recovery, and either If I Ever Stray or Wessex Boy.Favourite album: England Keep My Bones because I bought it and discovered it while living in England. But Positive Songs for Negative People is a close second.Have I ever seen them live: YES <3 I have yet to see him perform with the Sleeping Souls, though.Favourite band member: Frank, duh.First song I heard by them: “I Still Believe”. Bless the English student who fancied chatting with me about Angels and Airwaves and when I said I loved meaningful songs, she said “well you must love Frank Turner too”. “Who?” I asked. “ WHAT YOU DUNNO ABOUT FRANK? HOW?” Then she posted the music video to my FB page and I fell in love instantly. (But Sooty my friend, the bloke is wearing suspenders in the damn video. How could I not?)How much I like them (0-10): 10. But he did save my life a bit, sort of.

And I just found out about a beer Frank has brewed that’s called Believe. We totally have to try it. Also @scienceoftheidiot there is some St Peters bottles in the video I just linked. How perfect can he get?

Got a ‘like’ from the band on this one. I do fear this album will go completely un-noticed because the sound isn’t in vogue right now and they are a lesser-known act on a relatively obscure label and unable to build a live reputation due to the band being most of Frank Turner’s backing band, The Sleeping Souls.

The more I listen the more I like. It’ll just have to be our little secret that we shout about eh? Tear them away more often Jamie!
