It doesn't happen often anymore, but last week I was invited to see Badflower from the US, didn't know them the day before but started digging them when I checked them out on the day of the gig and man. Brilliant mix of Emo / Indie / Pop Punk and Grunge!? Makes me wanna write about music again. 🥰
Waking up, leaving the bus, standing right behind the stage and bumping into the familiar faces from the day before? A day can't really start any better. Especially if you make it out of your bunk before the NOFX crew turns on the sound for line check. Hahaha.
So you make your rounds around the area, try to get some sort of orientation for the new festival setup, locate the nearest coffee station and open toilet.
Luckily Hatfield greeted us with blasting sunshine and overall everyone seemed to be a wee more relaxed than in Leeds. Maybe because the second day makes it a more familiar surrounding?
Got to hang out with the crew of my favourite band (basically the nicest people you can imagine), the wonderful Kent Jamieson (I understand the hype now) and my favourite man from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania!
I got a random compliment from the new Zebrahead singer for my hair and got to do a two people circle pit on stage with no one less than Fat Mike, which was barely noticed by anyone but Matt Nasir. 😂 Can someone please pinch me?
When I quit my previous job I never expected this to be on the agenda of my current job... Well, I just wanna say - I freaking love it. And I can't believe how fast strangers become some sort of touring family within just two days. I really really hope we can go ahead with Punk In Drublic next summer, so I can hang out with the NOFX crew again! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Oh and I wouldn't mind to have all this tours I booked within the last couple of months actually happening because to see this shit happening is the best pay off in this business 💕
Okay even three days later I can't believe we actually went to a live music festival in the UK.
Arrived at the festival site in Leeds around 8.00 am with no one else but Kent and Baby B to make sure to be there in time for the first bands as NOFX didn't to plan to get there before noon. And no way was I about to miss The Baboon Show and Buster Shuffle as my first bands back on a stage without any restrictions.
Let me be honest with you, walking around the empty festival site, with music blasting through the speaker and running into one familiar crew face after another was so special. Made me realise how long I've been working in this industry already and how lucky I've been for working with such wonderful people.
Did I tear up when I saw my favourite band back on stage, playing "The Ballad Of Me And My Friends"? 100%! Did I feel absolute joy? 200%! Will I ever end being a passionate fan although I work in the music industry? Absolutely not. If this last weekend teached me one thing, than that burning for the things your love paired with some luck will get you anywhere.
And finally falling into the bunk bed of a nightliner after an endless day? Absolutely the best feeling in the world.
First time in England since March 2020.
First time in Leeds.
I haven't been blogging for a year as I couldn't really live the life I chose to. I didn't go to any shows until August 2021, didn't travel abroad and moved one announced tour after the next into 2022.
But then I got asked to book a solo tour for the wonderful Joey Cape, singer of Lagwagon through Europe. We couldn't add all the countries we originally had in mind for it, because this pandemic thing is still going on, but we managed 24 days in six different countries and we only had to cancel one of the shows due to heavy rainfall (and the show being an open air).
After being Joey's local promoter for the last seven years it's been an absolute pleasure to organize this tour. Can't wait for next summer and the upcoming Lagwagon tours.
September is here. Meaning that you should to start fresh. So change those bed sheets. Switch out that old toothbrush. Get your hoodies and sweaters out. Prepare for a better you. With new goals. And a healthier mindset. I know it’s been hard lately, but use this opportunity to start fresh.
Autumn is here and I'm trying to set up some new routines to get along with life. 🍁🍃🍂
1) getting up at 7.00 am
2) having breakfast, doing a short morning run and my daily full body workout.
3) having a shower.
4) working up to three ours from home as I'm down to 8 working hours per week now.
5) having lunch and go on a walk with my parents dog.
6) nap time!
7) Netflix, reading, dinner.
8) trying to learn some more Spanish as my online course starts next week.
9) having some quality time with my mum each evening ❤️

Self isolation. March 2020.
Earlier this month, I went on my last tour and to the gigs for a long time, I guess. I had a wonderful time, explored new cities, met a bunch o wonderful people again and I was sure this would happen all over again in May (with nine FT gigs planned on my end)...
February 2020 ✌🏻
And that's it, six Frank Turner / Jesse Ahern shows and three Dropkick Murphys show all over Europe. Thanks to a bunch if great people, Chemnitz - my last stop - was pretty special.
From a handwritten setlist, stage to audience jokes, some good talks and finally my second stage invasion - I couldn't ask for a better way to end this tour from my end. 💕
Jesse Ahern & Frank Turner the other day in Hannover 💕
February 2020 - Paris, France 🇫🇷
Two nights of Jesse Ahern and Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, as well as one night of the Dropkick Murphys in Paris.
I finally got lucky and Jesse handed me one of his vinyl after his set - can't wait to give it a spin on my record player later today.
Was it worth to travel all the way over to Paris to see Frank and the Souls again? Hell yeah, I had such a good time ❤️ and it was lovely to see he managed to catch the audience both nights. I hope this means he finally gets a foot into the French concert business!
