References (Part II)
Hi lovely people,
I guess you're now curious to know where I found my writing inspiration from, apart from my ghost story of course, which, if you've read my previous post, should not be a secret anymore. If you're not curious, I'll tell you anyway! :))
I think I've already come out as a HUGE Agatha Christie's fan, right?
NO? Ok, now I have!
I don't know if you've ever had the chance to read 'Sleeping Murder'; this novel has had a big influence on me and informed my first work of fiction. That and 'Five Little Pigs', too, which was published in the US under an alternative title ('Murder in Retrospect').
I must confess I got dangerously close to naming my book 'Past in Retrospect' - or something down that line - until I suddenly got reminded that Dame Christie had a novel that was released under a similar title so I discarded it pretty soon.
Anyway, if you are not familiar with these Christie's novels, do yourself a favour and read them. You'll see the reference when you get to read my book, which, by the way, is named 'A Call From the Past'.
Other things I get inspired by:
Friends;
People & the world;
Experiences that I've had/Experiences that my friends have had;
Music! Yes, there are quite a few references to pop culture and music in my novel. You never know, I might be your favourite rock star who's gone undercover or one of the Justin Biebers of the world. J/K. Safe to say, music plays a fundamental role in my life. It always has. And I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling this ;)
And last but by no means least, my own imagination! ;) You didn't expect this, did you? hehe
A round of applause, please.
Thank you very much :)))
Suede G. x
