[➳] It had always been the two of them ever since they were kids. Yes Pence had been there too, but in the beginning it had been them. Olette and Hayner, Hayner and Olette. Never saw one without the other. Honestly, almost everyone saw them as like two peas in a pod, attached at the hip. Of course as they got older, their interests had changed and they didn't always do everything together. Like how Olette got a job at the Bistro while Hayner was working for his dad at his shop. Even if she thought she didn't smell great, Hayner probably wasn't that much better; although granted he had showered after he got off work to make sure he didn't still have oil or grease still on his hands or in his hair. In fact he had actually made an effort. Something he only really did for those important to him, because they mattered.
Leaning against her shoulder slightly, he can't help the small smile that tugs at his lips when he feels her lean back against him in return. Their hands are settled close enough together on the bench that if he shifted his pinky ever so slightly... it could curl around hers. Despite what he himself had said and what others have said, he had always seen Olette as herself. As a girl. Because despite what people thought, he wasn't blind. He was well aware of how pretty and attractive his best friend was, from her soft brown layers to those sparkling emerald eyes. On top of that, she was arguably one of the coolest people he knew.
When she speaks up softly, his hazel-brown eyes shift from where they had been focused on their hands up to her face. Eyes flickering over those soft pink lips before focusing on her eyes even if they weren't focused on him. Leaning in a bit, their tone was low as he spoke into her ear as to not accidentally disturb the other patrons. "Can't I be clingy with someone important to me?" He paused for a moment before clearing his throat and adding. "I... I mean if its making you uncomfortable I can stop-"
