BlueBell Update oct 17 2022
Thank you all for the BlueBell love! i have some lovely pumpkin patch/ sunflower maze photos of her that i plan to share soon!
I spent yesterday afternoon/ evening doing some repair and painting on Blue. I am fairly pleased with the outcome! her felt backing on her mane and ears was worse for wear so i went in with some ditzy blue/ peri floral fabric and its so cute!! i also painted her beak as a means of repair to seal up some cracks and tears. to match its new look i painted her eyelids and foot the same pale purple/ blue color and sealed with iridescent varnish (also her toes are pink now!) i reassembled her and mended some spots in the fur. overall all she looks even more mystical and dreamy.
Some BG on her condition when i received her in the mail: Firstly the seller is awesome and disclosed all these issues so this is not meant to be shady or anything; secondly Blue does not work, she has lots of broken bits internally that mean its not possible to mend her at all (which is totally fine because I didn’t want a fully functioning furby as i am quite jumpy when it comes to sounds im not expecting). Blue did come with mild beak damage but surprisingly little compared to other 2005 furbs, and she is missing a foot so she sits a little lopsided if i don’t wrap her with a scarf. She came with her little necklace that you see in all the photos, and she clearly was well cared for by her previous family. I just hope the wear and tear was from being well loved by a child and not sitting in a garage or basement.
I did order her a prosthetic foot and mount as well as a new battery cover (she didn’t come with one). i plan to paint it in a contrasting fashion to her foot because fashion baby!
