September 16, 2014 - Posting day! (I hope)
September 16, 2014 - Commute Day 157
If Nick Douglas is to be believed (and I believe he is), then today is the day the world finally sees this thing I've been casually working on since January, and feverishly working on since August. Basically I put together a rough cut of the raw footage between August 1st and 14th, then worked on all the post production stuff from August 14th-September 14th. In the middle, stuff happened, y'know, like moving into a house. Very proud of the final result, and I learned a lot of stuff along with way (especially in regards to dealing with greenscreen and tracking markers). I'll do a separate post about the film in my Media blog later today. Boy, I wonder how much work I'm going to get done? Hm.
7:51 AM - Woke up. Whoops, guess my alarm wasn't set.
8:03 - Left the house. Tons of rain, and we haven't found our umbrellas yet!
8:17 - Arrive at the train station. Damn, there was a ton of traffic at the Table 9 roundabout and I missed it. Some people cut ahead in the traffic line-- I'll never understand the mentality of people who think their time is more valuable than others. That and people who litter.
8:42 - we hung out for the parking lot a bit and I called the local tax office to ask some questions. Then I got on the train. And read WIRED. And listened to more of that NeuroCore brain podcast.
9:45 - arrived at Grand Central. Again, the 6 train was running super late!
9:49 - caught the 5 train to Union Square.
9:56 - same deal as yesterday-- walk underground until 17th street then outside from there to work. Luckily the rain had subsided.
10:06 - arrived at work. The elevator was not in good spirits-- I got to it and it said one was coming down, but it was actually going up. Mutiny!
