My Jacket & Patches
This is me in my jacket, I don’t have pictures of me from the back.
This is the back. These aren’t patches, this is paint & paint sealer. I used white paint, the kind that’s meant for painting on canvases to make it easier to use acrylics. I, then, painted a green bush with two types of green (light and dark green nothing special). After the green dried I used the white paint again to make the Sapphic Violets (the flowers actual name), light & dark purple with a yellow center. When all of that was done I took paint sealer (or spray finisher, the stuff you put on painting when they are done) & went over it 3 times.
This is the front of my jacket, right now I only have 8 patches however, I made all of them myself so, let me explain them all.
The “Take Me Home” patch was made with some spare black fabric. I drew the outline of what I need to cut out, and than I drew where I need to stitch in with white thread and colour, all with white pencil. The colour of the top of the UFO is done with ribbon I bought from Walmart.
On my right side are my “Good Luck” patches is a Ace of Spades and a Four Leaf Clover. I call them my “Good Luck” patches because the Ace of Spades and Four Leaf Clover represent good luck.
The clover was made with light green thick fabric (the kind you buy from the DollarStore or Dollarama) I cut the four petals/leaves/whatever you want to call them. I then sewed it in with dark green thread to act as the veins of leaves.
The Ace of Spades is some white and black fabric I already had. The Spade itself took four tries until I gave up and cut out a heart and a rectangle and sewed them together. I didn’t sew it shut actually, I can still use it. I opened the pocket and sewed it to the fabric of the top of the pocket.
On my left side is “My Heart”. I put this heart on my left side because, well, the biggest side of your heart is on the left side. Fun fact about “My Heart” is that it isn’t a patch, exactly. It’s a squishable patch really. I made this by taking some red fabric, cutting out two hearts, sewing them together, flipping it inside out, and filling it with stuffing. I sewed it onto the pocket just like the Ace of Spades.
This patch is something I forgot about. It’s attached to my collar, like the Four Leaf Clover, on my left side. This patch is made with black fabric and white thread. The symbol is either the symbol of Hades or of good luck.
“My Zodiac Sign”. This is my zodiac sign (Leo) and it’s on some spare blue fabric. That’s all there is to it, I just Googled what the Leo star sign looked like.
My “YES HOMO” patch. This one was done a bit differently than the rest of my patches as I didn’t sew it onto my jacket. It’s stuck onto my jacket with, whatever makes sticky patches stick. The patch was bought from Walmart, in a giant package of patches for clothing, specifically pants. So, I just took this and stitched “YES HOMO” onto it and stuck it on.
“Sleepy Fox” patch. This was, by far, the most difficult patch to make. With pencil, I sketched out the fox and it’s details, I than did the black outline and all the spots that needed it (the inner-ear, eye and nose). Then, using two different types of orange, I made the fox’s fur with “shading”, I used white thread for the muzzle of the fox and grey for the “shading” of it.
These are all my patches, so far. I plan on making on more patches for my jacket. I, also, plan on making a another jacket with patches, but this time this jacket will have sleeves for colder weather.
I hope you guys like my jacket.
