Trick! Or! Treat!!!

Problematic d&d characters give me life. Tell Tristan Glaive I love and support him. What kind of poetry does he like?
@slightlydraconicDespite his namesake, Tristan prefers the epics, especially Beowulf and the ones by Homer. He particularly enjoyed the Iliad mostly because he found Achilles relatable. Upon losing someone very close to him, he too would be willing to slaughter enough people to clog a river and drag his enemy's corpse around a city.
His barbarian pals knew him well, so they gave him an ancestral guardian tattoo that resembles Achilles' shield. In recent years, he's hidden the tattoo under a pauldron.
The Cruel Prince is so great! I only just read it like two months ago and I think Jude is awesome. Also omg, a doodle!! Would it be at all possible to get a small Faeqelt dragon?
I love TCP!! It’s one of my favorite books in a loong time! I can literally reread it and reread it without ever getting bored, and I spot new details each time... I just love it! Jude is love and Jude is life. I really relate to her in some details of her character and she’s really well-written, feels relatable and is badass as fuck... I’ve gotten super attached to her. (The Wicked King is SO good I can’t wait for Queen of Nothing!!! \o/)
So, as promised for guessing right where the lil skull with antler pic came from, have a dragon doodle!!! I’m not very good at drawing dragons but I did my best for a smol semi-floof færie dragon, probably kitten-sized. <3
I just realized I've been reading The Bright Side for nearly 10 years (I think), and I just wanted to say, thank you so much for making something I've looked forward to basically every week for the past decade. The characters are all so good, their development feels realistic, and I really like the focus on curiosity and love in a comic about Death. I hope you're doing well and having a good holiday season. Truly, thanks again.
Thank you! I’m so glad you’ve stuck by this story all these years 😭💖
For the autumnal asks: maple, orchard, quilt
Maple: Is there a hobby / skill that you’ve always wanted to try but never did?
Flair bartending. I work as a bartender while I study to become a psychotherapist, but I’ve not had much opportunity or time to learn flair. I have the equipment at home, but I worry about breaking bottles and making a mess.
Orchard: Share one thing that you’d like to happen this autumn I want to become a better student actually. I’d really like to stick to and commit to a study plan that enables me to engage more deeply with the material I’m learning. Last academic year I really struggled to keep up with the reading schedule and always handed in my assignments last minute. This year I’m aiming higher.
Quilt: How do you take your tea or coffee?
I take my tea without sugar or milk, and it will pretty much exclusively be Peppermint or Lemon & Ginger teas. My coffee depends on my mood. I love a soy flat white when I’m out, but at home I’ll have a black filter coffee. Cream and sugar are added when I want a little comfort from my coffee break.
really hope this isn't too forward but i saw your tags on the aux post and i NEED to know what Halloween music from the 30s and 40s you recommend. please i love Halloween so much
@slightlydraconic not at all love!
I'd recommend the album “30′s and 40′s Era Halloween Vol. 2”. I shit you not, that’s the actual name of the album, and it’s got some really big names like Louis Armstrong and Cab Calloway that feature on there. However, the really fun songs are done by some lesser-known folks of the era. (“The Wobblin Goblin” by Rosemary Clooney, “Ghost in the Graveyard” by the Prairie Ramblers, and “I’m the Boogey Man” by Todd Rollins.) They’re all very silly and a delight to listen to!
Hope this helps!!
Hey there, I just wanted to say that the "THERE'S DINNER!?" panel in the latest tbs page is one of the funniest and most delightful things I've ever seen. Thank you so much for improving my day and my life. Have an excellent week
*clenches fist, whispers* thank you......
10, 12, 22! for the D&D ask

12. Your in game inside jokes/memes/catchphrases and where they came from.
oh my god so many here’s a few (from games i’ve played and dmed)
“you know that the fire started sometime within the last 200 years” - nat 1 on an investigation check for a recently burned home
“do you want to...share the bed?” - the bard to the wizard because he missed my description that there were two beds in the room and was trying to hit on them
“kek doesn’t have object permanence” - just. a fact
22. What color was your first dragon?
never fought a dragon proper yet!! i had a young white dragon in a game i dmed and we fought a silver dragon briefly but it was mostly just avoidance (we were tryna be chill but the lord’s alliance hates cloud giants idk...racists)
