It did no good. We were still sliding perpendicular to the guardrails.

With my limited experience, I incorrectly tapped the brake. The car immediately went head first into the guardrail. With our momentum the car did an entire 360 degree turn and came to rest about 4 feet from the guardrail. Had we finally pressed our luck too far?

Both of us were shaken but not hurt. We got out of the car to inspect the damage. There were two areas of damage. The rubber strip around the front license plate mount was scuffed up and the plastic headlight rim around the left headlight was cracked. We toured the rest of the car and found nothing else wrong.
