A massive sigh escaped Nancy as soon as she stepped out onto the smoking patio. The air outside couldn’t exactly be considered fresh, but she gulped it up anyway, relieved to escape the crush of bodies inside the club. Midnight was only a couple hours away and yet not nearly soon enough for her tastes. “Hey -- ” Pulling a pack of Camels from her clutch, she turned and targeted the person nearest. “Tell me about your worst New Year’s Eve experience. Gory details and all.” An unlit cigarette dangled from her between her lips as he continued to search for a lighter, huffing in annoyance, “I could use a serious pick-me-up.”
Place: Los Globos, New Years
‘Deals this, whoever doesn’t get these shots down (3) under twenty-five seconds has to let the winner pick their new years kiss. Anything goes. If that doesn’t work and you’re too pissy shit about it because you’ve got your future baby whatever then you can opt out, but you gotta do another three and go full Mardi Gras out front. Choice is yours.”
Time: 23:00ish Place: Los Globos bar Who: Korra x a friend/customer/anyone
New Years eve always brought pesky thoughts of new beginnings and recaps to the year so Korra was almost happy to distance herself from that and be able to occupy herself with working the night at Los Globos. And it wasn’t like it was too hard of a work, as long as she kept an eye for her boss, made sure no shattered glasses were left unattended and everyone’s giddy she was free to enjoy a drink and a chat with the people there. At that point of night the brunette had already have her fair share of drinks ‘bought to her’ by customers for a little last minute of the year flirtation and the young woman was ready to find someone to dance about with. Korra made her way to a person near the bar “penny for your thoughts?” she smiled leaning on the counter”
“This looks... terrible.” Spending his New Year’s Eve at Los Globos had not been part of his plan, but somehow he’d ended up at the club — completely out of his element, and with a strong urge to drink himself into a drunken stupor to deal with the night ahead. “God awful,” he continued as he tried to shout over the music, arms folded in an agitated stance. “I should have gone to the meadow, or even better, just stayed home. Does it always have to be this loud in here?”

aaron: hi my lovely ray of sunshine 💖
aaron: did you ever decide on what you're doing for nye?
“I ran into a guy that’s wearing full scale body glitter. Looks amazing, stunning, ten out of ten. But you could tell by the pure joy on his face that he has absolutely no idea the hell it’s going to be getting that glitter off. Like I’m willing to bet money he got too handsy with the glitter glue and glued his shorts to his body but doesn’t realize it yet.” Paisley cackles and claps a hand over her mouth. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t laugh, I shouldn’t, not like I’ve never done something stupid and chaotic in the name of a good time. But imaging being stuck in glitter covered shorts for days cause you done fucked up.”

IN CHARACTER DETAILS
The Silver Lake Neighborhood Council and Los Globos crew present a New Year’s package for those of you not quite sure how to spend your night. There will be two main events in two locations, and you’re naturally welcome to drop in and out if you have places to be.
Los Globos ($25): From 9 pm until 2 am, the doors will be open to the greatest New Year’s Bash of the year! With two whole floors to dance on, you can party like it’s 2019 and you’re blissfully unaware of the chaos that’s lurking around the corner, or drink (responsibly) to forget all about it. To commemorate the night, make sure to take full advantage of the photobooth and all its props! Happy hour is from 11 pm until 1 am, and in time for the stroke of midnight there will be a free champagne toast for everyone in attendance so you can end the year strong and keep the buzz going into 2021.
Silver Lake Meadows (free): If you’re not afraid to brave the chilly night and prefer a more relaxed celebration, gather around the reservoir and wish your neighbors a happy new year! From 11 pm until 1 am, there will be live music provided by a line-up of local bands—only interrupted by the council chairman’s speech and of course the fireworks display we’ve all been waiting for.
Since this is the season to be slower than usual, we want this event to be lowkey and chill so everyone can participate at their own pace. We do, however, have an additional little activity coming up, so stay tuned for the details on that.
