Composite - Composure (Slow Mix) (2005)
This was produced and recorded all by myself in the fall of 2005 when I was still living in Pittsburgh, PA. This was actually around the time I was living in my first ever apartment I had to myself in Oakland when I was attending the University of Pittsburgh. On Boundary Street in Panther Hollow (for people familiar with the Oakland/PITT/Pittsburgh area, this should be very familiar...just within walking distance of Primanti Brothers (the best place to eat in the world on Forbes Ave) and ofcourse The Original Hot Dog Shoppe aka “THE O” (those fries will burn the roof of your mouth but goodness gracious they are delicious and you get a lot of them for almost $3.00!)
I made this track in particular using Ableton live (the beat delay and granular synthesis VSTTs are very prevalent throughout this track) and Native Instruments Kontakt...sequencing both on my Sony Vaio Desktop I had at the time so the drums were playing at the same time as the extra percussion that was manipulated and recorded in real time by myself. So this lends the impression of the sounds panning from left to right of the speakers headphones, etc.
This was originally a remix for a friend but this track ended up laying around on my HD along with the other sessions from this album which were recorded from 2004-2006. Now remastered to the original quality from the 2013 re-release that came out on All In The Family Records. The original was released in 2008.
