Slow starters

Slow starters don't live As soon as you do; They've got tired bodies And tired souls, too.

They're bound to their bed's Invisible chains; They lift up the wool And roll under again.

Once up, they will shuffle With lead-heavy feet; You see, waking up Is a costly defeat.

And, no, they don't know How they got down the stairs; They yawned and they blinked And were suddenly there.

Slow starters will greet you; A nod and a grunt, And maybe some mumbling To not be too blunt.

You might want to chatter, But though they can hear Your words simply pass through And out both their ears.

Just give them a moment: One cup of coffee; They'll find out they're living As soon as may be.

Once finally risen, they'll firstly agree Slow starters are hopeless; Slow starters are me.

It was your last month as a third year at Fukurodani Academy. You were sitting on the side of the gym’s wall looking at the nightsky. The stars were shining bright as you kept staring at them. It was already 8 o’clock at night when you hear the sound of footsteps approaching the door. They open and he fast walks to where you were at.

There he was. His beautiful golden orbs staring right at you. He kneels down to where you were at and gives you a tight hug. “I missed you Y/N.” after he hugs you, he stands back up, sticks his hand out for you and he helps you stand. “Let’s go home beautiful.” You both say your goodbyes to the team and walk home hand in hand.

Bokuto has always had a crush on you ever since you two were first years. He always tried to talk to you but you found him a bit of an airhead and never took him seriously. He will always go to you to help him study because failing grades will not allow him to play the sport he loves. You two live 3 houses down from one another, so he will always go over. After his morning runs, he will go to wake you up so you can get ready for school. He will try to encoruage you to exercise, but you will always turn him down. Every shot he got to be with you, he will always try to ask you to be his girlfriend. You will kindly deny his request. You were too focused in school for a relationship.

He always thought that you hated him in a way. But if it wasn’t for his best friend Akaashi, he would have given up on you a long time ago. Akaashi always encouraged him to take it easy with you. He told him that things like this take time. In Bokuto’s eyes, you were precious. Every chance he got to hug you, to encourage you on your stressed days, to spend with you, were his favorite days. He loved you. He loved everything about you. From your small freckles, to the small pout you will form when you will fall asleep.

“One day, you will be my girlfriend.” It was a random day where he was getting ready to leave to nationals. You were shocked on his sentence. That’s when you felt your heart fall for him. You did think he was cute. You loved his attitude, how he was always there for you, and how any little thing he will do will make you smile. That day, he showed growth. He showed how he truly felt for you and that was the day you believed his feelings. You decided not to say anything but keep it to yourself.

It wasn’t until a random day where he decided to take you out for some ice cream on a cold night. He was a bit stressed with studying and decided to see you. It was windy and he had told you to wear warm clothes. He picks you up and you to walk to the nearest ice cream shop. You two decided to eat them outside and have a seat on a bench. As he was eating his ice cream, he had a bit left on his lip. With your warm hand, you grab his left side of his cheek to face you. And with you thumb, you wiped it off. “There.” You say as you accomplished a mission. He felt his face a bit warm as his golden hues were staring right at you. “I love you y/n.” He placed his head on your’s. You couldn’t help but blush back.

“I love you too.” You murmured.

He instantly sits back up in a shocked mode. “I want you to be my girlfriend!” His voice was sharped but he meant it from the bottom of his heart. You gave him a warm kiss on his cold cheek and accepted. After so long, you finally became his girlfriend.
