I shortened the lyrics here a bit, but this song is one that I used to listen to on repeat whenever I had a bad day... which was most days. . Music is a powerful thing. It can help us express the feelings and thoughts that we have yet cannot make sense of and cannot physically express. "Devils Never Cry" has always been one of my favorites. I haven't heard it in a while, but it popped up in my mind today. (Not the song in the video) . I have struggled with depression for as long as I can remember. Not sadness, depression. Depression is a dark and heavy force that consumes the mind. It makes me feel worthless when I should be proud. Feel emotionless when I should be in a state of bliss. It makes me feel drained, ashamed, hollow and detached. Everytime it comes about, I feel the urge to scream, but cannot because the urge to scream comes from a place I'm only to assume is my soul. I don't like it. I don't try to be depressed. It just happens. . For me, depression comes in waves. Usually once per month (go figure) for a week or so. It is worse in the winter. . When I unboxed my silicone mermaid tail, Sparda, I was actually struggling with a period of depression. I was happy to have my tail, but didn't "feel" happy or excited. I felt indifferent, and frustrated that I couldn't feel as excited as I knew I was. Those who struggle get good at hiding it (sometimes). We learn to put on "happy faces" when the episodes are mild, I think. . Don't believe me? Watch the unboxing video. I bet you wouldn't be able to tell. . Consider this a friendly reminder to be gentle with yourself, your family members, friends, coworkers and the like. We all have our own demons dragging us down... they are often our best-kept secrets. Be kind. . Anyways I'm okay! Just was thinking. I know I'm not alone. Hugs to those who struggle 🖤 .
