Scenario 14.) Christmas party
Dialogue 26.) “What are you wearing?” (Made a tiny adjustment to this one!)
“Babe!” Austin called from the hall, “You almost ready?”
“Yeah!” You called from your room, adjusting your dress one last time. Tonight you were accompanying Austin to one of the fancy Hollywood Christmas parties thrown by one of his colleagues. It was incredibly different from the casual holiday party hosted by your best friend from college the two of you had gone to the night before, and you had been stressing all day about what to wear. No ugly sweater for you, you had to look nice tonight.
Which prompted you to pull out a sleek red dress that you’d hadn’t had the chance to wear in ages. You grinned as you appraised yourself in the mirror: it hugged your curves perfectly, and as an added bonus it was a perfect match to your favorite red lipstick. You adjusted the glittery clip in your hair one last time before stepping out into the hall.
Austin was occupied with adjusting his jacket in the hall mirror, seemingly oblivious to your presence.
“Y/N, did you end up figuring out what you’re going to wea—”
He turns just as you close your bedroom door behind you, and his jaw drops as he takes you in. “I— Um— Okay, wow, sweetheart, you look—”
You feel your face heat up, and you tug nervously a the hem of your dress, “Is it okay? I can go find something else—”
He cuts you off, quickly shaking his head as his eyes track up and down your body, “No, no, no, no, honey, you look gorgeous. Absolutely perfect.”
Your face flushes even more at his praise, meeting his eyes with a shy smile. “Well you don’t look so bad yourself,” you say, smoothing out one of the lapels on his jacket.
He chuckles, leaning down to press a kiss to your cheek so he doesn’t smudge your lipstick, “Thank you, sweetheart. Ready to go?”
Taking a deep breath to steel yourself, you nod, and Austin leads you out to the car.
