Welcome to my legacy challenge! This challenge is inspired by some of my favorite movies (mostly teen movies) that I thought would be fun to play in The Sims. I usually break the rules when playing legacy challenges to fit my play style or pack availability, so please feel free to do the same.
Each legacy has two parts:
-Challenges are a checklist to complete before unlocking the final goals.
-Goals are the final challenge to complete before moving onto the next generation.
*Tip: I like to copy and paste the challenges/goals in my Sim's notebook so they're right in-game, and I can check them off as I go.
Except for Gen 1, all generation challenges begin and end during the Teen life stage. When your heir ages up to Young Adult, you can continue their stories however you want unless a certain career is required for the next heir’s story to make sense.
If you’ve seen any of these movies, don’t feel like you have to stick to the plot. I initially wrote these guidelines to organize my gameplay, but I wanted to share it in case anyone else was interested in giving it a try. Thanks for checking it out. Have fun!
GEN 1: SELENA
Ever since you were a kid, you dreamed of being a star. You got your first taste of the spotlight singing in your parents’ restaurant where you fell in love with performing. But as you grew up, you began yearning for more out of life. Instead of only singing about love, you wanted to experience it for yourself. Then walks in the new guy your dad hires. Your dad makes it very clear that the new guy is off limits, but you can’t help feeling that he could be the one.

GEN 2: BACK TO THE FUTURE
You couldn’t get away from music if you tried. It runs in the family. But you’re tired of the old sounds from the past. You want to produce beats that are out of this world. That kind of equipment’s going to take some serious cash. Thankfully, your strange neighbor has a few odd jobs for you to do, and this mad scientist knows a thing or two about high tech. When one of his inventions goes horribly wrong and sends the entire community into the dark ages, you agree to help him get the neighborhood back to the modern age.

Goal:
-Produce and release your first track on the Mix Master Music Station.
GEN 3: SHE’S ALL THAT
You have a unique way of seeing the world. You like to paint what’s right in front of you and see what others tend to miss. That’s the bright side of being on the sidelines. You notice everything, but no one notices you. That all changes when the most popular guy at school asks you out on a date. He even seems interested in your love for art. It’s Prom season and when your name comes up as a nominee for Prom royalty, you wonder if maybe you’re not as invisible as you thought.

While scrolling through their Britechester's website for the hundredth time, you end up joining their chat room and connecting with a fellow Britechester hopeful. Pretty soon you’re both sharing your dreams until a friendship blooms and…maybe even something more. You agree to meet at a school masquerade dance. The one thing money can’t buy that seems to slip right through your manicured fingers? True love. Some may say you’re way too high maintenance and self-absorbed. As if! It’s not your fault that most guys don’t measure up to your standards. And you definitely know love when you see it. You have a gift of matching other couples like the perfect pair of shoes. But if you’re so good at matchmaking, why is it so hard to find your soulmate?

The best way to get her attention is to show her you’ve got all the right moves to lead your squad to championship victory. You skip class once and suddenly you’ve earned a week of detention. Now you’ll be spending your precious spare time locked in a room with four students you barely even blink at in the halls. There’s the Jock who’s almost as popular as you and your friends. Then you have the Nerd who would rather keep his head in a textbook than speak up in class. The Art Kid lives in a bizarro world of her own. And finally, the Slacker who gets into so much trouble, detention might as well be his permanent residence.
The principal expects a written assignment at the end of the week expressing what you’ve learned. Being trapped with four complete strangers, you soon discover that getting to know those outside your small inner circle must just unlock something new about yourself.

Life Stage: Adult
Career: Any
Spouse Career: Actor
Goal: Have twins.
GEN 8: FREAKY FRIDAY
One big fight between you and your twin pushes your mom and dad over the limits. Instead of grounding you like any normal parent, your dad borrows a punishment from his acting class and demands that you and your twin trade places until you both learn how to co-exist without starting a family war.
Musician Twin:
You’re the wild child who would rather jam on your guitar than do homework. High school is tough, and the only way you know how to express your feelings is by writing them in a song. It’s a lot less awkward than telling your crush how you feel. You know you need an attitude adjustment most days. You just wish people would try to understand you instead of only seeing the worst.
Writer Twin:
You’re the perfectionist who refuses to let anyone read your stories unless every word is just right. Agreeing to be the leader of the Prom Committee may be an excuse to procrastinate, but it’s the biggest dance of the year, and you're the right girl for the job. It’s not easy being the responsible one, but who has time for fun when there’s so much work to be done?

Unfortunately, you missed the deadline for applications, but you were able to work out a deal. In exchange for your help in the kitchen, you have access to all the camp's activities.
This is an opportunity of a lifetime. It’s a chance to let your voice be heard and share your songs with the world. Will fear of what everyone else thinks cause you to shrink back into the shadows? Or will you have the courage to step into the spotlight and shine?

When he encourages you to audition with him for the school musical, your initial response is to run away. But you can’t deny that singing with him is special. Getting a part in a musical has never been in either of your visions for the future, but maybe it’s time to shake up the status quo.
