I love the silly TV man as much as the next guy, but him bulldozing through the very clear concern expressed by Mike bc his neurotic ass sees this partnership as his only chance of avoiding his inevitable fate of becoming obsolete and getting trashed….. yeah that 500% checks out.
Frankly I was more taken aback by the notion that OG Mike was somewhat aware of the deep shit Spamton had got himself caught up in with his benefactor. The vagueness of the warning can’t have helped, whether Mike didn’t know all the details or he didn’t want to incur the wrath of whoever is on the other end of the phone. Tenna probably convinced himself it would be fixable. Like… pay off a criminal gang, or whatever. On one hand, that is FUCKING STUPID, YOU SELFISH IDIOT. On the other hand… I don’t think it ever crossed his mind that the consequences of Spamton signing the deal would be straight-up Eldritch mindfuckery.
