Kibera slums has been one of the most targeted areas with the government before and after every General elections. Most innocent taxpayer living around here struggle and die each day protecting people who earn more than the citizens here do but through corruptions. In the past 2017 general Election, most of the innocent and poor taxpayers living around here have loosed their families as some went through serious injuries while trying to fight for the rich families survival including the politicians and members of parliaments living around Kibera. As daily photographer and a blogger in the slums, I spent my two days covering the whole situation and experienced the whole cause of the 11th and 12th of August 2017 demonstration.The Police covered the whole sides and inside the slums shooting demonstrators with live bullets as they protest against the presidential results on the 11th living two Kenyans dead. but as the situation continued over the night with live bullets being shot towards Kenyans, It become more serious on the 12th where many Kenyans including young kids at the age of Nine dying through live bullets on the demonstrators side. It was a protest done with no water to drink, no food to eat, no money to earn and no where to hide. I still fail to understand why the authorities are granted the permission of using life bullets on common citizens leaving the poor side of this families with mortal remains and injuries to cater for as the rich enjoy their money dreams being protected by the poor innocents.
