              Black-tipped ears quirk upward as her head turns, wide purple hues brimming brightly.  Any joke or alternative intent is lost upon the rabbit in favor of what she had concluded.  ❝ Oh, oh!  Can I be BAD COP? ❞

    His deadpan expression alone is answer enough.

         ❝ Come on, Nick!  You’re always bad cop and I’m always good cop.  I can totally do bad cop.  Yes.  ME. Bad cop.  I can do it, really!  Besides, we should branch out.  You take a turn at goody-two-paws and I can lay down the law! ❞  She grins widely.  ❝ Whaddaya say? ❞

         Really?  He’s still going on with these JOKES?  A sigh escapes her lips as she eyes him, half-delighted and half-dulled.  Either it’s a really slow day for the fox or he’s trying to ruffle her fur.  She doesn’t entertain the idea that Nick’s genuinely or partly serious at all.  ❝ Pft, it’s not exactly ‘ UNDER-COVER ’ if it’s a place we know… ❞

              Then again, two can play at this game.

         The laws of WHAT NOW?  Purple irises widen only to narrow as her nose twitches once.  Twice.  Three times.  It takes the bunny cop a moment to realise he has got to be joking, another moment for her to process just that, and another for her to BELIEVE it before the tiny pitter-pattering of her heart ( and foot ) settles down.

    A wry smile tugs against the corners of her muzzle as she shakes her head at the fox in amusement.

                   ❝ Then go attract some EVIDENCE in that garbage can, will you?  Your name’s written all over it. ❞

    ❝ Volunteering to deliver everyone’s stack of paperwork at the end of the today, Nick?  That is so GENEROUS of you! ❞

         Her voice returns to a normal tone as her smirk widens, clearly inviting challenge from her partner.  ❝ And a strong fox like yourself, I bet you can carry them all. ❞

“And be the one held responsible for the resulting stomach ache? I think not,” she teased back. “I don’t think you could get this clunker out the door anyway, it was a hassle getting it inside when it was delivered.”

Her parents had really gone overboard this time with their “care package.” It looked more like a crate like those found on cargo ships. She had to hop over the thing to get around it. Still it was a very generous gift and she suspected that telling them about Nick had been why she had gotten such a big “package” from them.

“They must think I’m feeding an army or something.. Either that or they think your stomach is a bottomless pit. I’m pretty sure I got this much because they want me to split it with you.”

Seeing a slip of paper situated into a crack in the crate for the first time, she pulled it out and found that her suspicions had been correct.

“Yep, here’s the evidence.”

The note read:

We have to make sure you two are eating right and feeding yourselves somehow. Eat up, you’re cops you need your strength.

P.S. We kept Pop-Pop away from it. Don’t worry there’s nothing dangerous in there.
