It is Emma's Birthday! Well technically it is on October 8th, but never too early to celebrate!

So some info regarding this...

Birthday Ask Memes! I've got a lot queued up and already posted, so free to send me some! I'd love to do some birthday-related threads!

How old is she turning? For this 'event' she will be turning sixteen...so the big sweet sixteen! She will only be sixteen for these threads, anything else she will remain fifteen.

Unless we plot otherwise, this also will be her first birthday in the manor/with Bruce for context.

Does birthdays make her feel a bit weird and uneasy because it is associated with her birth and birth parents that she knows little to nothing of so she struggles to not think about them all day? Absolutely.

So, Russia has been banned for two years from using our country name, flag, and anthem at the next two Olympics or Worlds, although uniforms can have the colors, name or flag but it has to say “Neutral Athlete” on it. No word from the ISU yet on how this affects our sport.

This just... sucks so fucking bad, because this isn’t really an issue in figure skating. I have nothing to do with any the shit that the federation is in trouble for, but I’m punished for it. I understand why, but it fucking sucks. Heading into my second Olympics, and AGAIN, I’m not going to be competing under my country’s flag. It fucking sucks.

I’m not going to do a huge rant, because I did that before the last Olympics. Just search my blog for doping, and it’ll probably come up.

No Internet

Looks like I’m going to be largely without personal Internet for the next 4-5 days >w<

I’ve been busy so while I would normally consider and better attempt to have doodles at the ready during the absence...I don’t. orz

That said, I will still be able to work on things - particularly the daily Drawlloween schedule - without an Internet connection, so everything will be uploaded eventually, pretty much all at once >w<

I am exhausted just by thinking about what I need to do.

I need to make some sort of progress.

And I may have to ban myself from Tumblr for a bit even though I know I will start worrying if people are doing okay or if they need me but I really have to pick my battles here because let's face it I will be worrying about everything I am doing gjweirobefdkgwrsfd

I need to focus on/worry about my own health and wellbeing right now.

And I have to keep telling myself that it's NOT selfish.

It's NOT selfish. It's good to care about other people, but it's also good to care about yourself. Sometimes you have to place yourself and your needs above others (just not all the time). And sometimes you have to step back and realize that you can't be there for everyone, no matter how hard you try.
