Wow!! So disappointed in the Fort Stockton Pioneer.
They finally asked me to call after 2 months.
Stupid me thought someone donating $700 worth of gifts to a local nursing home might be newsworthy!
"Did you want to place an ad?"
"No ma'am, I have no money for that."
"Well what exactly do you want from us?'
"To help me get the word out."
"Oh wow don't do THAT!!"
She was so rude I nearly started crying.
Thanks for nothing hometown newspaper!!😿
90% of my donations have come from people out of town which I think says a lot about the community.
However thanks to those donations I am within $300 of my goal so thank you Jesus for that.
I can't explain it but I felt led of God to take that money out of my savings and use it to buy gifts for people who were going to be feeling left out this holiday.
Why God saw fit to not let my land deal go through and let me end up in a bind and let me experience the fact that people out here are just completely disinterested in helping will hopefully become apparent one day.
But I can hold on to the fact that 67 residents will have a Christmas present and some of them might not have had anything.
